They have a combined net worth of $325million.
So when it comes to dividing up Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s assets, the Hollywood couple have a lot at stake.
This week, Kidman – who is worth an estimated $250million – filed for divorce from Keith after 19 years of marriage.
Despite the Hollywood actress, 58, making the filing, it was reportedly Urban, worth an estimated $75million, who initiated the split and he is rumoured to already be dating another woman.
Court documents obtained by the Daily Mail have listed the former couple’s monthly income at $100,000 each, with lawyers now set to sit down and crunch the numbers when it comes to divvying up their assets.
Much of this will be determined by the prenuptial agreement signed when they tied the knot in 2006 – which included a clause that could now see Urban walk away with more than $17million.
The New Zealand-born singer reportedly signed an agreement with Kidman which awards him $900,000 for every year of marriage, per Radar Online.
However, the contract comes with a ‘Cocaine Clause’ which states Urban is only eligible for the money if he steered clear of drugs and alcohol across their marriage.
Urban has long been open about his past struggles with addiction and entered rehab just four months after he wed Kidman.
He previously revealed that it was his wife who staged the intervention, telling Oprah Winfrey: ‘She made a decision to turn around and initiate ultimately this intervention.
‘It was done in such a way that the love in that room at that moment was just right. I was like, “Put the cuffs on, let’s go”‘.
Urban credited the intervention with saving his life.
Kidman won’t be walking away from the divorce empty handed, however, as the pair will also be deciding how to divvy up the rest of their assets.
During their 19-year marriage, the former power couple accumulated a massive property portfolio worth a reported $282million.
Among the purchases are no fewer than six apartments in a single high-rise block overlooking Sydney’s famous harbour.
The celeb couple first bought a 420sqm pad on the 21st floor in 2009 for close to $6million.
Three years later, they bought the slightly smaller 380 sqm apartment next door with better views of the harbour for a reported $7million.
Then in 2011, they also splashed out $2.68million on a 19th-floor apartment, which the Oscar-winner initially used as her home office.
In May 2023, it was reported star Nicole bought her sixth apartment in the flashy Landmark Latitude complex in Milsons Point on the North Shore.
The Big Little Lies actress paid an eye-watering $7.7million for the chic three-bedder, bringing their tally in the building to $27.5million with the purchase.
They also have a sprawling country estate in the Southern Highlands that they purchased in 2008 for $6.5million.
Located on 45 hectares 145 km from Sydney near the tiny town of Bunya, the beautiful six-bedroom spread is now thought to be worth $12million.
Their portfolio isn’t limited with one country, with the couple also owning several properties in America.
Two years after tying the knot in 2008, the Oscar-winner and chart-topping singer-songwriter snapped up a 20-room Nashville mansion in the country music capital.
Built on a 1,115 sqm estate, they shelled out $4.89million for the palatial property, which boasts seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a tennis court, swimming pool, home theatre and ‘hobby room’.
The same year, Keith and Nicole purchased the five-bedroom, five-bathroom Beverly Hills abode for $6.77million.
In 2010, Kidman and Urban splashed $13.53million for a designer duplex in the upscale and highly fashionable Chelsea neighbourhood in Manhattan.
It houses, among others, Nicole’s Q7 SUV manufactured by Audi, worth around $54,000, which she’s known to drive.
In 2020, they added to their New York portfolio after snapping up a two-bedroom apartment in Tribeca for $5.3million (US$3.5million).
One thing they will not have to deliberate over, however, is child support for their daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.
A Child Support Worksheet seen by the Daily Mail shows that neither party will receive monthly child support as Keith has ‘already prepaid all child support obligations’.
The former couple have also waived spousal support, and agreed to split court costs evenly.
They have already agreed on a parenting plan in which Kidman gets 306 days while Urban receives 59.
Urban will have the kids from 10am on Saturdays to 6pm on Sundays every other weekend, while Kidman will care for them the rest of the time.
The estranged couple have also divvied up the special occasions they will each spend with their daughters: Kidman will have them on Mother’s Day and Easter, while Urban will get them on Father’s Day and Thanksgiving.
Elsewhere, the document specifies that the pair will make major decisions regarding their daughters together, including educational and extracurricular activities.
News of Kidman and Urban’s divorce came on Monday, with reports that Urban had moved out of the Nashville family home and into nearby accommodation and was unhappy at the ‘lack of intimacy’ in their marriage.
Kidman, said insiders, was shocked.
Within 24 hours, however, she had filed for divorce, in Davidson County, Tennessee, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’.
The new allegation leaking out of Nashville now is that Urban has already moved on.
A music industry source told the Daily Mail on Tuesday: ‘The rumor is that he’s with a younger woman in the business. It’s all everyone is talking about.’
However, the details remain elusive, with one friend telling the Daily Mail that Urban hasn’t talked about whether he is ‘dating anyone else’.
