Melania Trump stuns during farewells to King Charles and Queen Camilla

Melania Trump oozed elegance as she bid a formal farewell to King Charles and Queen Camilla at the end of their four-day state visit.

The 56-year-old joined her husband, President Donald Trump, at the White House in Washington, DC, on Thursday morning.

She opted for business chic in a charcoal gray suit and a crisp white button-up shirt, pairing the ensemble with black pumps.

Melania chose to wear her signature makeup palette and styled her honey tresses in loose curls before sweeping them over her shoulder.

The group posed for a series of photographs before exchanging closing pleasantries, with Trump declaring King Charles: ‘The greatest king.’

‘He’s a great king,’ Trump said. ‘The greatest king, in my book.’

Following on from the official goodbyes, the British royals are heading to a block party for America250 – an organization coordinating the commemoration of America’s 250th birthday.

And, later this evening, the King and Queen will be heading to the airport as their trip to the United States officially concludes.

After forging a close bond with the Princess of Wales, Melania Trump may also have found a friend in the Queen.

Despite a 22-year age difference, videos and photos from Washington DC showed the pair exchanging secret smiles, sharing laughs together, and even wearing mirroring outfits – an important milestone in any female friendship.

Camilla, 78, is accompanying King Charles on a four-day whirlwind state visit to the United States in what is shaping up to be a stunning display of the monarchy’s soft diplomacy.

The King, 77, was at his wittiest best during the state banquet on Tuesday, as he delivered hilarious quips about the Boston Tea Party and the United States’ shared history with the UK, after charming the American leader over Earl Grey tea.

The royal’s visit was packed to the brim with events, spending the day in New York City on Wednesday.

Their Majesties visited the site of the original World Trade Center, which has been turned into a tranquil oasis of remembrance, where they laid a floral tribute to the victims of 9/11 at the National September 11 Memorial in New York.

They were greeted by former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, chairman of the 9/11 Museum and Memorial, and Beth Hillman, its president and CEO.

The handwritten note by the King read: ‘We honor the memory of all those who so tragically lost their lives on 11th September 2001, and stand in every lasting solidarity with the American people in the face of such awful loss. Charles and Camilla.’

The couple also spoke with the Governors of New York State and New Jersey State, Kathy Hochul and Mikie Sherill, as well as Commonwealth representatives, recognizing those who lost their lives across the Commonwealth family.

One moment from the proceedings of the royal visit that has raised eyebrows came when President Trump divulged, during his speech at the dinner on Tuesday, that the King agreed Iran must never be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons.

Trump said: ‘We’re doing a little work in the Middle East right now. And we’re doing very well.

‘We have militarily defeated that particular opponent and we are never going to let that opponent ever – Charles agrees with me, even more than I do – we will never let that opponent have a nuclear weapon. They know that.’

The President’s words were met with cheers by many of the diners.

Buckingham Palace has moved to smooth over the fallout from Trump’s claim, which broke with the protocol against revealing the King’s privately held opinions.

The Palace responded by saying: ‘The King is naturally mindful of his Government’s longstanding and well-known position on the prevention of nuclear proliferation.’

Trump later repeated his claim that King Charles would have sent British forces to help in Iran, if the decision had been his.

Speaking from the Oval Office, he said: ‘The King is fantastic. We spent a lot of time together. We had a lot of talk. We talked about this also, and he loves his country, and he’s a great king, and he’s a great friend of mine.

‘And I think if he were doing that, if that were up to him, he would have probably helped us with Iran.’
