Premier League club HIDE replies calling for manager to be sacked

Burnley have hidden posts on X critical of Scott Parker after fans turned on the manager following their 2-0 defeat by Everton on Tuesday night. 

The Clarets shared a video of Parker’s post-match thoughts in an interview posted on the club’s official account. 

And underneath, furious supporters aired their grievances, branding the display ’embarrassing’, with plenty calling for the boss to be sacked. 

With such a wave of negativity, the admin of the Burnley account then chose to hide the critical replies. 

A feature on X allowing users to see which messages have been hidden clearly showed the posts the club wanted to obscure. 

One read: ‘Sack him. Strip the squad. Take time to replace him with someone with bigger b******s. Rebuild. Go again.’

Another wrote: ‘Hide this reply if Parker should be sacked.’

And a third went for the same approach, adding: ‘We should sack Parker. Hide this reply if you agree!’

Burnley duly hid the reply, along with dozens of others, prompting the user to write: ‘Ladies and gentlemen, we got em.’

A downcast Parker had said in the interview: ‘We fell short, we fell well short in terms of everything about our game. There was nothing in our game that was remotely encouraging or pleasing really. 

‘And at this present moment in time, you know, we’re trying to work out what the reasons are.

‘I just thought we looked very, very flat. We were poor on the ball and never really posed any sort of problems and at times their quality was obviously far superior really. 

‘So, a really disappointing night for us. I don’t know whether it was the weekend, maybe it took a lot out of us in terms of the general effort and the physicality of what that game was, the emotional state of that game. But for sure we looked way short tonight.’ 

Parker was referring to Burnley’s 4-3 home defeat by Brentford, in which they had a late equaliser ruled out. 

The loss against Everton on Tuesday night compounded those woes and for many fans it appears their patience with the manager has run out, as evidenced by all the replies the club chose to hide online. 

Burnley are currently 19th in the table with 19 points and lie eight points from safety, with relegation back to the Championship looking almost certain.
