Leigh-Anne Pinnock reveals there is going to be a Little Mix reunion

Leigh-Anne Pinnock has said there is ‘one hundred per cent’ going to be a Little Mix reunion in a new interview on Friday.

The singer, also revealed she has reached out to her former bandmate Jesy Nelson amid her ‘devastating’ time with her twin daughters, who have been diagnosed with genetic neuromuscular disease, Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1 (SMA1).

Previously, the Little Mix reunion had been thrown into chaos after Jesy revealed last week that she had tried to take her own life just days before quitting the chart-topping band in 2020.

In her new Prime Video docu-series, Jesy Nelson: Life After Little Mix, she recalled feeling ‘really alone’ and claimed bandmates Leigh-Anne, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall ignored her cry for help in the lead up to her overdose.

Speaking about a possible reunion tour during an appearance on Heart Breakfast with JK and Kelly Brook, she shared her hope for a tour and said she had ‘reached out’ to Jesy following the tragic news about her daughters.

Kelly asked: ‘So, would Little Mix kind of reform at some point do you think and do a tour?’

Leigh-Anne replied: ‘Yeah, a hundred per cent. How could we not? A hundred per cent! And we are kind of at that legacy point as well.

‘I think so many people would just be gagging for that. So yeah, a hundred per cent.’

JK asked: ‘Who would be the mixer that would initiate that sort of getting back together?’

Leigh-Anne said: ‘I mean, all of us! But I guess it’s just a case of when. Because right now we are all very much still exploring our individuality and going on our own journeys. And we need time for that.’

Leigh-Anne added that she has reached out to Jesy as ‘supporting each other has always been so important.’

She continued: ‘Obviously reached out to her when we heard what was happening with her twins. It’s just devastating.

‘We’ve all reached out to her and I think she is really brave for what she is doing. But yeah, obviously me Perrie and Jade are super close as well.

Jesy previously revealed she has quit music as she focuses her attention on her twin daughters after they were diagnosed with the life-limiting condition.

The former Little Mix singer’s children Ocean and Story were born with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) type 1.

The genetic neuromuscular disease causes progressive muscle weakness and wasting, and feeding tubes are required due to severe swallowing, sucking and breathing difficulties.

As Jesy campaigns for screening for the condition to be included in the newborn blood spot test, she’s revealed she has parked her music career.

Appearing on Heart FM’s Breakfast show last Thursday, Jesy told Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston her focus is now solely on the twins.

She explained: ‘Look listen I’d never say never say never to music, but for me, my girls are my main focus, I’ll be honest with you, I’ve not got time, I really don’t.

‘They are my whole heart and soul and my main focus, and I want to continue advocating for them and getting this heel prick test changed and getting them strong, that’s my main focus.

‘Because that’s going to determine their future. That’s my main focus right now.’

In her new Prime Video docu-series, Jesy recalled feeling ‘really alone’ in the lead up to her overdose.

It was the second time Jesy had tried to commit suicide following an overdose in 2013, which she discussed in her BBC documentary Jesy Nelson: Odd One Out.

Following the comments, Leigh-Anne, Perrie and Jade had reportedly been left saddened by Jesy’s comments which have ‘brought up a lot of bad from the past’.

A source told The Sun: ‘Jesy’s confession has obviously opened up a can of worms for the girls. The documentary itself and the backlash that has followed, has brought up a lot of bad feeling from the past.’

Elsewhere in the documentary Jesy claimed one of the other Little Mix members tried to quit the band before she ultimately decided to leave the group – and this is seemingly who it is.

The singer admitted she was ‘blindsided’ by the unnamed member’s decision to leave the girl band and had believed that everyone was happy at the time.

It was reported five years ago that Perrie was the one to try and leave the band first – and Jesy’s latest claims appear to have confirmed the narrative.

Jesy quit the group in November 2020 after it became too much for her to bear, and was ‘really hurt’ when her lawyer told her bandmates she was to quit the band, before she had chance to tell them herself.
