Gary Barlow reveals he sparked a bomb scare at Tokyo airport

Gary Barlow had an explosive departure from Tokyo during Take That’s last tour.

He revealed he sparked a bomb scare at Tokyo airport after pyrotechnics in the band’s show left him covered in hidden gunpowder.

The singer explained: ‘At the airport check-in, I was told: “We just need to swab you.”.

‘All of a sudden, six policemen round me. They said “There’s gunpowder on you”. And they said, “It’s not just a small bit, it’s a lot”.

‘I’m thinking, “Oh, my God, they’ve all got guns and all sorts”. And I had to go, “Wait, wait, wait, wait. I’ve just been on stage”, with its pyrotechnics finale.

He added: ‘I got on the internet and showed them the gig and where we’d come from.’

Eventually, after swabbing and searching all his belongings, he was allowed through.

The latest revelation comes following the release of Take That’s self-titled Netflix documentary which was released on January 27.

Jason Orange sent fans wild following his appearance in the first teaser trailer for the show.

The rarely-seen former singer, 55, who quit the group 2014 after 24 years, appeared in never-before-seen footage alongside Gary Barlow, 54, Howard Donald, 57, Robbie Williams, 51, and Mark Owen, 53, at the height of their fame.

Jason’s voice, from an archival interview, could be heard as he mused: ‘[The Band] were tight amongst ourselves, it felt like we were kings’ of the world’.

Meanwhile in another throwback clip, a young and cheeky Robbie, who himself quit Take That in 1995, joked: ‘We all kissed before the show… in a butch way!’.

Fans have gone wild, saying: ‘Did we hear Jason then?’: ‘Did Jason take part in this, is it newly recorded voice overs?’: ‘I CAN’T WAIT!’: ‘Love Take That’: ‘Take That Forever’.

Speaking in a new Interview, Mark said: ‘From the beginning there was something in us, that wanted to prove something’.

And Gary gushed: ‘Nothing beats being in a band, there’s strength there’s a buzz’ before adding: ‘But I don’t think anything can prepare you for what we were about to take on in the 90s’.

The three part doc-series tells the iconic boy band’s remarkable story from humble beginnings in Manchester to playing sold-out shows, topping the charts with 12 huge UK No.1 hit singles and selling over 45 million records worldwide.

Jason quit the band back in 2014 after he admitted he had wanted out of the group for some time and had no desire to commit to recording and promoting a new album.

With Robbie also having exited the group in 1995, Gary, Mark and Howard continued as a successful trio.

Take That first returned to the music scene as a three-piece after a ten-year hiatus in 2006, but Jason was the only member of the band to steer clear of the music scene during their decade long break.

He opted instead to try his hand at acting in a variety of stage productions.

The star reportedly turned his back on the London party circuit, opting instead for quieter nights at low-key venues in and around his native Manchester.
