GB News slapped with furious complaints about Brooklyn Beckham row

GB News viewers vowed to switch off the breakfast programme after being left furious over coverage of Brooklyn Beckham and his family feud.

In today’s (January 21) episode, hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ellie Costello were joined Charlie Rowley and Clare Muldoon to break down the headlines.

Discussion turned to Brooklyn, 26, who took to Instagram with an explosive statement on Monday.

This was along with bombshell accusations about his 2022 nuptials in the latest twist in the family’s ongoing feud.

He shared a six-page statement, where he said he has no wishes to reconcile with his family and is standing up for himself ‘for the first time in my life’.

Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz, 31, are at the heart of the acrimonious divide that has resulted in them snubbing all significant family celebrations over recent months, including his father David’s milestone 50th birthday.

And in his lengthy post, Brooklyn blasted his ‘sham’ family dynamic and claimed his parents’ love is only decided by ‘how much you post on social media’.

Speaking on Tuesday’s Breakfast with Eamonn and Ellie, journalist Clare said: ‘It’s the global brand of brand Beckham, and we see it almost breaking up, and that six-page post from Brooklyn Beckham, I doubt if he wrote it all for a start because the language from someone who goes ‘oh babe’ to more like a PR release.

‘One would imagine there’s a lot of PR, a lot of control, and I think he’s been at breaking point over the past few months.’

Not all viewers were impressed by the coverage as one wrote: ‘Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.’

Another agreed: ‘I can’t stand all this Brooklyn stuff, goodbye.’

A third fumed: ‘Who gives a monkey’s about this spoiled entitled t**t. The world is on the brink of war, and you’re endlessly talking about him. Are you getting money to promote the Beckham name or something….!!!!’

A fourth queried: ‘Still talking about this?’

Fans begged the programme to move on from the scandalous Beckham fallout

In his statement, Brooklyn went as far as to say he has been ‘controlled by a family that values public promotion above all else’ and that since being with Nicola, he has found ‘peace and relief’ after battling crippling anxiety.

The chef said fractures within the family began during their wedding in April 2022 as he claimed his mother Victoria, 51, and dad David ‘endlessly tried’ to ruin their relationship.

Brooklyn also claimed Victoria, who has her own fashion brand, cancelled making Nicola’s wedding dress at the ‘eleventh hour’ and hijacked their first dance which left him so ’embarrassed’ they decided to renew their vows without his family last year.

He also hit out at his father, as he said he was in the UK to attend David’s 50th celebrations, but claimed repeated requests to see him beforehand were ignored and ‘when he finally agreed to see me, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn’t invited’.

In an impassioned statement, Brooklyn wrote: ‘I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private.

Brooklyn went on to address his wedding to Nicola, claiming there had been repeated attempts to ruin their relationship

‘Unfortunately my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.

‘I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.

‘For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family.

‘The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.

‘Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always come out.’

Brooklyn went on to address his wedding to Nicola, claiming there had been repeated attempts to ruin their relationship.

Rumours of tension first emerged after the actress sported a stunning couture Valentino bridal dress, after previous reports she would wear a design from Victoria.

While Brooklyn posted his statement, Nicola paid tribute to Valentino Garavani following his death in Rome on Monday aged 93.

The heiress took to her Instagram Stories to share snaps of the designer.

Brooklyn wrote: ‘My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped.

‘My mum cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress.’

‘Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children.

Brooklyn and actress Nicola tied the knot in 2022, after the couple announced their engagement two years earlier

‘They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated.

‘My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since.

‘During the wedding planning, my mum went so far as to call me “evil” because Nicola and I chose to include my Nanny Sandra, and Nicola’s Naunni at our table, because they both didn’t have their husbands. Both of our parents had their own tables equally adjacent to ours.

‘The night before our wedding, members of my family told me that Nicola was “not blood” and “not family.”

‘Since the moment I started standing up for myself with my family, I’ve received endless attacks from my parents, both privately and publicly, that were sent to the press on their orders.

‘Even my brothers were sent to attack me on social media, before they ultimately blocked me out of nowhere this last summer.’

Cruz previously claimed Brooklyn had blocked his entire family on social media following reports they had unfollowed him.

‘My mum and dad would never unfollow their son… Let’s get the facts right. They woke up blocked… as did I,’ Cruz wrote.

Brooklyn went on to talk about his first dance at the wedding with Nicola, which he claimed was hijacked by his mother.

He said he was ‘so uncomfortable and humiliated’ they decided to renew their vows on their third wedding anniversary.

His family – including brothers Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and sister Harper, 14, – were not present to watch him renew his vows in New York’s Westchester County on August 2.

Brooklyn continued: ‘In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead. She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone.

‘I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life. We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment.’
