A contestant on The 1% Club bagged an incredible £97,000 as the only one to answer the final question correctly – but could you get it right too?

Hosted by Lee Mack, the smash-hit ITV quiz tests logic and common sense rather than general knowledge.

This week, The 1% Club has been airing a ‘Rollover’ edition, with anyone who reaches the last round returning in the following night’s episode.

In Thursday’s instalment, three contestants – Anna, Sam and Stevie – reach the tricky 1% question.

Sam opted to take his share of £10,000 leaving the two women to play for the eye-watering prize pot.

Lee asked the two: ‘What common two-word phrase do you get if you remove three words from the following sequence?’

This was tricky final question in Thursday night's The 1% Club rollover - could you have got it right?

A whopping £97,000 was up for grabs, having accumulated into an incredible prize pot during the episode

One of the contestants, Anna, found the right answer and looked absolutely amazed to have done so

Accompanying the question was a screen covered in letters, namely: T W H W E R L E L E D W O O N R E D S.

Once their allotted time had been used up, Lee pressed the pair of contestants for their answers.

Stevie – who also reached the final round in Wednesday’s show – confirmed she had not worked it out, having written ‘something unreadable.’

Unfortunately, it meant she once again fell short after being stumped by the tricky question.

Rival contestant Anna locked in ‘well done’ as her answer – and this turned out to be correct.

Lee declared: ‘Congratulations Anna, you are the winner and get everything in the prize pot – £97,000.’

To which a visibly amazed Anna replied: ‘I can’t believe it!’

As with many questions on The 1% Club, the question’s solution is actually easier than meets the eye.

By removing the letters spelling ‘three words’ from the long sequence, those remaining spell out ‘well done.’

Unfortunately, it marked the second consecutive night in the rollover that Stevie fell at the final hurdle

The answer was 'well done' - but were you able to solve it with ease like Anna was? 'Well done' if so!

Due to the rollover format, Anna will be returning for tonight’s episode alongside Stevie and Sam.

It comes as Tuesday’s instalment saw a player walk away with a show-record jackpot.

By the end of the episode, finalists Michelle and Nathaniel were playing for a whopping £194,000.

The pair faced this question: ‘Heidi Abbi Bedhead just got a new bank card. If the picture below displays the first 12 digits of the card number, what are the final four?’

On screen, a graphic showed the bank card with digits 8594 9122 9254 ????

Can you work it out?

Michelle opted for 8154, while opponent Nathaniel instead answered 9214.

On Tuesday, The 1% Club contestant Michelle won the highest ever prize pot given away on the hit ITV quiz show

The winning player appeared in the special Rollover spin-off - and bagged a whopping £194,000

This was the final answer - revealing how the digits and alphabet corresponded. Did you get it right?

Ultimately, Michelle was revealed to be correct – with the numbers on the bank card corresponding to the alphabet and therefore spelling out Heidi’s full name.

As the missing digits represent ‘head’, the required digits are, as Michelle identified, 8514.

Lee said afterwards: ‘Blimey, that is the most anyone has won on the show, obviously, as it’s a rollover. How do you feel?’

To which the winning player simply replied: ‘I feel like this might be a dream.’

The 1% Club continues Friday on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
