Woman who suffered painful periods reveals food that cured cramps

A woman has revealed the simple food that has completely cured her horrible period cramps after years of suffering.

Alexa Loebel, 32, from New York City, told the Daily Mail that she ‘struggled pretty consistently with horrible cramps and a heavy flow’ that made her ‘want to live horizontally’ for years.

She said the terrible menstrual symptoms would leave her with ‘a groggy vibe that took over her whole week.’

She explained that she tried to lean into wellness rituals such as yoga, meditation, and sound baths, but nothing could reduce the excruciating pain she was experiencing.

But when her boyfriend, Ben, came across something about how iron and protein-rich foods, such as steak, can help with period pain online, it changed everything.

The content creator gave it a shot and said she was ‘completely shook’ by the results.

‘Eating steak on night one of my cycle completely transformed how my body responded that week,’ Alexa told the Daily Mail.

‘My flow? The lightest it’s ever been. The cramps and abdominal pain? Pretty much gone.

Alexa Loebel, 32, from New York City, revealed to the Daily Mail the simple food that has completely cured her horrible period cramps every month

She said eating steak on night one of her cycle has helped her immensely because it's high in iron

‘My mood and energy? Elevated in a way I’ve never experienced during that time of month.’

She added, ‘It blew me away how much of a difference it made.

‘I am now trying to be way more intentional about fueling my body with iron and protein-rich foods, especially during my cycle.

‘The ripple effect it’s had on my energy, mood, and overall well-being has been a complete game changer!’

Replenishing blood lost during your period can ease the pain of cramping.

Alexa went viral on TikTok after posting a video about the exciting ‘cure.’

She told the Daily Mail: ‘Of course, I know everyone’s body is different, and this might not work for everyone.

‘But I felt called to share my experience in case it could help someone else navigating the same cycle rollercoaster.’

She said the ‘social media response was incredible’ and sge was happy to hear other women’s experiences or see men excited to use the tip to support their partners.’

In the video she shared: ‘I’m not kidding when I say, it has transformed that whole time of month. My periods now only last three days.’

'My flow? The lightest it’s ever been. The cramps and abdominal pain? Pretty much gone,' Alexa, seen with her boyfriend, who first came up with the idea, gushed

Many women chimed in with their own meat-eating experience in the comment section.

‘Yes! We need the iron and protein. It helps so much,’ someone wrote.

‘Yes, it’s the only way I can avoid a migraine,’ another said.

A different comment read: ‘I ate steak within 18 hours from starting my period, and it’s normally four days long and super heavy on day two and three, and this time it lasted three days and was way lighter.’

‘I took an iron supplement the first day of mine this month, and I’ve never felt so energized and normal on the first day of mine!’ a person shared.

‘It’s a game-changer, it’s insane,’ someone else agreed.

‘It’s a cheat code for real! Eating steak at the beginning of your cycle definitely helps [with] the symptoms!’ another declared.

Others gave more suggestions to ease the monthly pain.

‘Medium rare steak, [pomegranate] juice, and some Dove dark chocolate. Shortest periods I’ve ever had,’ a user shared.

‘Do a side of sautéed spinach for the extra iron, or if your [vegetarian] – helps soooo much,’ a different person suggested.

Alexa concluded to the Daily Mail: ‘The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that our bodies are truly magic.

‘Sometimes it just takes the right combo of nutrients (for me it is iron and protein!) to unlock a whole new level of ease, energy, and comfort during a time of month that most wouldn’t necessarily think could be easy, filled with energy, and comfortable.’
