Wolves pair involved in HEATED dressing room altercation

Wolves stars Tolu Arokodare and Mateus Mane were involved in a heated dressing room altercation earlier this month.

It has been a dismal campaign for Rob Edwards’ side, who will be relegated if West Ham take at least a point against Crystal Palace on Monday night.

There have been several demoralising losses along the way and after a 4-0 defeat by the Hammers on April 10, things came to a head.

As first reported by Wolves journalist Nathan Judah, Arokodare and Mane exchanged words inside the changing room following the match at the London Stadium.

Their clash became physical, with Arokodare confronting his team-mate further until things were eventually defused.

Both players had been second-half substitutes during the game and Arokodare was subsequently fined after the incident.

The clash between Mane (pictured) and Arokodare came after Wolves' 4-0 defeat by West Ham

He was then an unused substitute in their 3-0 defeat at Leeds on Saturday.

Arokodare joined Wolves last summer in a £24million deal from Genk, but the Nigerian striker has scored just three Premier League goals.

Given Wolves’ impending relegation and the altercation, his future is uncertain going into next season.

Meanwhile, Mane has been a rare bright spark for The Old Gold, with the youngster, who Wolves signed from Rochdale in 2024, scoring two goals and adding two assists in 14 starts.

The pair did attempt to defuse the situation on social media in the aftermath of reports breaking on Sunday night.

Mane shared a snap of them together on his Instagram story and tagged Arokodare with the caption ‘big bro’. He added a love heart and a fingers crossed emoji.

Arokodare reposted Mane’s photo and added his own love heart, star and fingers crossed emojis, suggesting the two players have buried the hatchet following their clash.

Meanwhile, since Edwards replaced Vitor Pereira in November, Wolves have won just three of 22 games and taken 15 points in total.

Despite a brief upturn in form over the winter – including back-to-back victories over Aston Villa and Liverpool – they have been heavily beaten in their past two games and remain three points adrift of Burnley in 19th.

Nevertheless, Edwards tried to express the importance of the final five games to his side after the Leeds defeat.

‘We don’t want it (relegation) to happen, but the writing is on the wall,’ he said.

‘We have to continue trying to improve and there are things we are doing better, but we are where we are because of the mistakes.

‘It is really important we fight in every single moment.’

Wolves return to action on Saturday with a home game against Tottenham, before they end the campaign with fixtures against Sunderland, Brighton, Fulham and Burnley.
