Watch: The BBC’s doctored Trump speech side-by-side with the original

Watch the doctored Donald Trump clip BBC Panorama aired side-by-side with the original, unedited speech.

The segment, broadcast as part of a documentary examining the former president’s rhetoric, was edited to splice together separate moments from his 2021 rally omitting lines where Mr Trump urged supporters to “peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.”

An impartiality row has ignited within the broadcaster after an internal report accused it of bias, censorship, and doctoring footage of the president.

Mr Trump has since threatened to sue the BBC for $1 billion unless it responds to his legal letter by Friday, 14 November.

More than 500 complaints have been lodged after concerns came to light following an internal memo by a former adviser who also highlighted shortcomings over the BBC’s coverage of the war in Gaza and transgender issues.

Director-general Tim Davie and Deborah Turness, chief executive of BBC News quit over the weekend following the series of scandals at the corporation.
