Vogue Williams has joined the backlash against Steven Bartlett after the podcaster was mocked over his claims that two glasses of wine ‘ruined his life for three days’.
Earlier this week the Diary Of A CEO star went viral as he regaled the tale of how a minimal amount of alcohol sabotaged the following three days.
Listing how he was less productive, he claimed it affected his sleep, gym routine, diet and even his ability to podcast.
And now Vogue and her podcast co-host Joanne McNally have weighed in on the Bartlett discourse on their latest episode of My Therapist Ghosted Me, as Vogue said it ‘feels like he’s not actually living his life’.
She explained: ‘He said he had three glasses of wine and it ruined his life because it made him not optimal for three days.
‘First of all, he said that he wasn’t able to podcast well, which I actually don’t agree with because I think when you’re hungover, you are on full fuego.’
Vogue Williams has joined the backlash against Steven Bartlett as she said it feels like he’s ‘not actually living his life’ after the he claimed two glasses of wine ‘ruined his life for three days’
Vogue said: ‘He does go on about human connection and stuff like that, but like it just feels like he’s only connecting to himself and not actually living his life’
She joked: ‘I think you’re at your funniest when you’re hungover. I also think you’re at your best two drinks in. That’s when a human is at its best.
‘If everyone went around two drinks in and they were all kept at that level, we’d all be getting on and there would be no war.’
The pair then discussed the entrepreneur’s obsession with his Whoop fitness tracker and the problems with over analysing health data.
Vogue continued: ‘So there’s a thing called being an optimization person because Steven Bartlett’s whoop said he was at something like I don’t know 28% recovery or something.
‘The amount of times I’ve seen a 1% recovery on my Whoop and I look at it and I’m like I know I’m dead today because I know what I did yesterday and I know I’ve had two hours sleep.
‘That’s kind of why I stopped wearing the whoop because I was like, “This is too judgmental for me.”‘
Joanne agreed: ‘Yeah and sometimes I’m like, do you know what? You don’t need that much intel. You just don’t.
‘You can get kind of obsessed by it. And Steven Bartlett is an absolute wh**e to his Whoop from what I can tell.’
Vogue added: ‘He does go on about human connection and stuff like that, but like it just feels like he’s only connecting to himself and not actually living his life.’
Steven also hit headlines back in February after he discussed the male loneliness epidemic, mentioning that incels – involuntary celibate men – will go extinct if they’re unable to find a partner and reproduce.
Vogue joked: ‘I think you’re at your funniest when you’re hungover. I also think you’re at your best two drinks in. That’s when a human is at its best’

Greg James hits out at Steven Bartlett after he said two glasses of wine ruined his life for days
Steven said when talking to Dr Alok: ‘We’re going to have a lot of men who are disillusioned that become incels, find themselves in pockets of the internet, are resentful. All those kinds of things.
‘Should society intervene to course correct that, put systems in place to make sure that those men meet partners?’
Giving her view on his opinions, Joanne added: ‘Do you know what I think bothers me about him? He is preaching about his concerns about incel men, involuntary celibate men who aren’t socialising. They’re not meeting women.
‘If you’re preaching, if you’re concerned about the male loneliness epidemic and what you’re also doing is keeping men even more isolated.
‘I’m not saying drinking is the key. I’m not saying it’s the code, but what I am saying is if a man is just obsessed with dumping himself in ice, not drinking, sitting in, optimizing, tracking his sleep, tracking all this s**t.’
The Daily Mail have contacted Steven’s representatives for comment.
Earlier this week Greg James encouraged people to join his ‘anti-Bartlett cult’ as he hit out at the joyless tech-led ‘optimisation movement’.
In reply to Steven’s video, Greg asked that people ‘switch off’ their fitness trackers and ‘go and have a nice time’. A message which was supported by a host of other stars.
Taking to his social media platforms over the weekend, Greg said: ‘Can we talk about this Bartlett thing? This wine thing…’
Greg said: ‘So I’ve sort of been railing against this for years. Not the alcohol thing, fair enough if you want to give up alcohol, it can ruin lives, got that – that’s not what my issue is.
‘My issue is this endless optimisation and measuring of everything to the point where it starts to make you feel a bit miserable if you don’t quite hit your own targets.’
The video has received an overwhelming response from fellow stars, who shared their agreement with Greg about the ‘optimisation’ trend.
Julia Bradbury, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021, said that while she does sometimes track her goals, life is about ‘progress not perfection’.
She wrote: ‘Agreed. As someone who’s written books about this, at the end of the day it’s about progress not perfection, and fun. I had cancer. Grateful for every day.
‘I track on days I want to achieve some goals and go on instincts the rest of the time. Interesting thought, that the wine had such an impact on him – and alcohol is something I’ve given up. Reduces my risk of recurrence, and I’ve danced on a few tables in my time’.
Fearne Cotton, who also showed her support, joked: ‘I genuinely sometimes podcast better on a hangover.’
