Iran has attacked 12 countries in retaliation for the US-Israel strikes, US Central Command says.

‘The Iranian terrorist regime has attacked 12 different countries and continues to deliberately target civilians throughout the Middle East,’ CENTCOM Commander Adm. Brad Cooper said.

‘Last night, Iranian forces fired seven attack drones at civilian, residential neighborhoods in Bahrain.

‘This is unacceptable and will not go unanswered. We will continue working with regional partners to address this threat to innocent people across the region.’

Missiles launched from Iran heading towards Israel have been detected, Israeli Defense Forces have said.

They have said that they are working to intercept the incoming attack.

Meanwhile, alerts have been issued to mobile phones in areas which could be impacted by the country’s Home Front Command, the military has said.

They have urged civilians to stay in a protected space and follow directions.

Nearly 24,000 American citizens have been taken back to the United States since the beginning of the war, a US official said.

Dylan Johnson, US assistant secretary of state for global affairs, released the below statement:

Several flights have safely returned hundreds of Americans to the United States with additional flights scheduled to take place over the coming days, as security conditions allow.

Commercial flight availability across the region continues to improve with commercial options available in most of the region.”

The US state official also explained that the 24,000 US nationals who were safely evacuated from the region did not include those who had moved to other countries or those still making their way back to the US.

The Foreign Office has warned that terror attacks on Cyprus ‘cannot be ruled out’ in an updated statement.

In new travel advice issued to Britons via its website, the government department said terrorist attacks on the island are not out of the question.

The assaults could be indiscriminate, inclduing places frequented by foreigners, their advice said.

It comes after a British military base RAF Akrotiri was attacked by drones twice earlier this week, with the HMS Dragon later deployed to the country.

Brad Cooper, the head of the US military’s Middle East-based Central Command (CENTCOM) has said Iran fired seven attack drones in residential areas of Bahrain yesterday evening.

He accused Iran of ‘deliberately’ targeting civilians across the Middle East in a statement.

‘This is unacceptable and will not go unanswered,’ he said.

The IDF has claimed to have struck over 400 targets in Iran, including storage facilities for aerial vehicles as well as ballistic missile launchers.

Israel destroyed a vehicle in western Iran which was carrying air defence systems to another location, they alleged on Telegram.

The Pentagon has issued an urgent call for resupplying of its most massive ‘bunker buster’ bombs amid claims there are only six left in its arsenal.

Giant 30,000lb GBU-57 bombs – known as Massive Ordnance Penetrators or ‘MOPs’ – are the biggest non-nuclear weapon America has.

They were used in combat for the first time in Operation Midnight Hammer in June when 14 of the 20ft-long behemoths were dropped to devastate Iran’s underground nuclear sites at Fordow and Natanz.

That operation by seven B-2 Spirit stealth bombers dropped the biggest payload of explosives since World War II , and it left stocks of the bunker busters depleted.

Back in 2009, a total of 20 MOPs were ordered, and those were delivered in 2015. The use of 14 in Midnight Hammer means there could be only half a dozen remaining.

A senior Israeli official told Fox News that Iran’s Supreme Leader was not in his bunker when he was killed last weekend.

‘Even as the operation was unfolding in real time, and dozens of planes were making their way to Iranian skies his inner circle didn’t grasp what was happening quickly enough to move him underground,’ the official said.

‘The top commanders of the IDF even went to their homes for Shabbat dinner on Friday night, just hours before the strike, in an attempt to deceive Iranian leadership.’

Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has branded US bases in the Middle East a ‘threat’ to the countries hosting them.

It comes after it was reported today that Russia is sharing intelligence on US ships with Iran.

Writing on social media, Medvedev said: ‘The Gulf Arab countries let American bases onto their territory.

‘Naively, they expected protection from them. Like hell!

‘The US just uses them, while protecting only one country. Think long and hard about whether you really need US bases – they’re not protection, they’re a threat.’
