LIVE: Nato shoots down Iranian missile after it crosses into Turkey

Iran fired a ballistic missile into Turkey before it was shot down by Nato.

Turkish defence ministry officials confirmed the missile had entered the country’s airspace before it was countered by Nato air defences deployed in the eastern Mediterranean.

The incident marked the fourth such incident since the start of the Iran war, following three earlier interceptions by Nato systems earlier this month that prompted Ankara to protest and warn Tehran.

Meanwhile Donald Trump has threatened to blow up Iran’s power and desalination plants as well as oil wells and Kharg Island unless a deal can be reached to ‘immediately’ reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Writing on his Truth Social platform, the President said the US is in ‘serious discussions’ with a ‘more reasonable regime’ to end the war but said he will take action unless an agreement is made.

And a huge fire broke out at an Israeli oil refinery following a missile strike earlier today.

Footage captured by Israeli media shows flames bursting from the Bazan refinery in the port city of Haifa which has previously come under attack in the Iran war.

Trump threatens to end ‘lovely’ stay in Iran by blowing up oil wells and desalination plants

Donald Trump has threatened to blow up Iran’s oil wells and desalination plants unless a deal can be reached to end the war and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Writing on his Truth Social platform, the President said the US is in ‘serious discussions’ with a ‘more reasonable regime’ to end the war but said he will take action unless an agreement is made

‘Great progress has been made but, if for any reason a deal is not shortly reached, which it probably will be, and if the Hormuz Strait is not immediately “Open for Business,” we will conclude our lovely “stay” in Iran by blowing up and completely obliterating all of their Electric Generating Plants, Oil Wells and Kharg Island (and possibly all desalinization plants!), which we have purposefully not yet “touched,”’ Trump penned.

A strike hit Beirut's southern suburbs on March 30 after Israel issued a warning for people in the Hezbollah stronghold to leave. ‘The Association for Civil Rights in Israel filed a petition today to the High Court of Justice demanding the annulment of the Death Penalty for Terrorists Law, enacted by the Knesset today, March 30, 2026,’ the rights group said in a statement shortly after lawmakers passed the bill.

Call for UNSC meeting after deadly attacks on UN peacekeepers

France has requested an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council following ‘the extremely serious incidents’ targeting UN peacekeepers in Lebanon.

At least three UN troops have been killed this week, including one from Indonesia.

‘Such attacks near UN peacekeeping positions are unacceptable and unjustifiable,’ Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said, adding France is calling ‘for a full investigation into the circumstances of these tragedies’.

The peacekeeper from Indonesia was the first from the UN’s peacekeeping force, known as UNIFIL, to be killed in the new war between Israel and the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah, which erupted on March 2.

Breaking:Israeli military issues evacuation warning to six villages in Lebanon

The Israeli military has issued evacuation warnings to residents of six villages in Lebanon’s western Bekaa region, urging civilians to leave ahead of possible military operations, in the first such warning for those areas.

The military said the warning was prompted by what it described as activity by fighters in the area, without providing further details.

More than 1.2 million Lebanese civilians have been forced from their homes.

Activities by the Hezbollah militant group ‘are forcing the IDF to act forcefully against them in these areas,’ Avichay Adraee, the IDF’s Arabic language spokesman, said in a post on X. ‘We do not intend to harm you.’

He added that residents from Zalaya, Lbaya, Yahmar, Sahmar, Qalaya, and Dalafi should move north of the town of Qaraoun in the Bekaa Valley.

‘Any movement south could endanger your lives,’ he said.

Human rights groups have raised the alarm over Israel’s forced displacement orders, stressing that many families have nowhere to go as Lebanon’s shelters are full.

When asked about reports that American-made landmines have been spotted on the ground in Iran and whether Trump signed off on using landmines in Iran, Leavitt said: ‘I don’t have any comment on that report today.’

When asked whether landmines are being used at all, Leavitt again declined to answer, saying: ‘I don’t have any comment on that.’

Trump interested in calling on Arab states to help pay for Iran war, White House says

Donald Trump would be interested in calling on Arab countries to pay for the cost of his war on Iran, Leavitt says, adding that she thinks Trump would have more to say on the issue.

Asked whether Arab countries would step up to help pay for the war, Leavitt said she would not get ahead of the president, but that Trump has had this idea.

I think it’s something the president would be quite interested in calling them to do. It’s an idea that I know that he has and something that I think you’ll hear more from him on.

International Red Cross and Red Crescent mourn Iranian doctor killed in strike

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies says a 44-year-old doctor had been killed in an airstrike.

The group said in a statement that a Friday airstrike killed Somayeh Mir Abo Eshagh while she was volunteering with the Red Crescent.

It said Abo Eshagh had volunteered intermittently for 22 years.

‘The killing of Soumaya, and any attack on humanitarians, is unacceptable and must be condemned.

‘We continue to call for the protection of humanitarian teams who risk everything to save lives – this is a moral and legal obligation,’ the group said in a statement.

It said Abo Eshagh was the second medical worker to be killed in Iran and that 17 had been injured since Israel and the US launched the war on February 28.

Breaking:Qatar intercepts drones launched from Iran

The country’s defence ministry says Qatar’s territory was targeted by Iranian drones, adding that the armed forces successfully intercepted all of them.

The ministry said in a statement that the drone attack was carried out earlier in the day.

Tehran continues its drone and missile strikes targeting Gulf countries hosting US military assets, as well as Jordan and Iraq, causing casualties and infrastructure damage while disrupting global markets and aviation.

White House says the Iranian officials they’re talking to ‘are appearing more reasonable behind the scenes’

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Monday that it’s an ‘ongoing process’ for the US to ensure that the officials they’re negotiating with in Iran are actually in power and able to implement any deal.

Leavitt did not detail who the US is speaking with.

‘Anything that they say to us privately will be tested, and we will ensure that they are being held accountable to their word,’ Leavitt said.
