In a moment no one saw coming, Traitors Fiona Hughes and Rachel Duffy turned on each other during Thursday’s explosive episode.
Amanda Collier revealed her secret about being a former senior police detective in the Metropolitan Police to her close ally Rachel, who shared the information with the group after Amanda’s banishment.
The news didn’t go down well with Fiona, who came across as envious for not being told the secret first.
She believes Rachel is lying about Amanda’s job and brutally calls her out for being a Traitor in front of their fellow players.
It is not unheard of for Traitors to throw each other under the bus, but going to war in front of the whole group could be dangerous for both of them.
The pair then came face-to-face in the show’s famous turret, with Rachel telling the camera: ‘I have done nothing wrong. I want to see what she has to say for herself, but the fact that she came for me means I’m coming right for her.’
While Fiona said: ‘I’ve thrown a grenade in. It is up to you, Rachel, how you want this, but I promise you this, you’ve got a fight on your hands, girl.’
The episode is left on yet another cliffhanger, with the two women staring at each other in silence, making Stephen Libby visibly uncomfortable.
Tonight, the trio will have to put their differences aside and decide on one player to murder.
Fiona and Rachel’s feud came after they murdered civil servant Maz Bana face-to-face alongside fellow Traitor Stephen.
Then, following another gruelling mission, tensions rose at the roundtable as the group was torn between Amanda and Reece Ward.
After the vote was split twice on who should go, host Claudia Winkleman announced that the banishment would be in the hands of fate.
Both players had to pick a chest, and whoever had the shield inside was safe. Reece broke down in tears as he picked up the shield, meaning Faithful Amanda was next to leave Ardross Castle.
Rachel also became emotional and said: ‘I know I’m a Traitor, but that broke my heart. She was my favourite person.’
The Traitors pulled in an impressive audience for its fourth episode on Wednesday as the identity of the Secret Traitor was finally revealed.
An average of 7.3 million people tuned in to watch the instalment, according to overnight ratings. That’s substantially higher than the season 4 premiere’s overnight viewership, which lured in an average of 6.4 million viewers.
Fiona, a local government worker from Swansea, who is nicknamed ‘lovely Fiona’ and described as ‘lively, bubbly and full of fun,’ was revealed as the backstabbing contestant hiding behind the red cloak.
When Fiona revealed her true identity in the turret, Rachel said: ‘Fiona coming in makes me nervous, she is going to ruffle a few feathers,’ with Stephen adding, ‘She is playing a very good game.’
It seems Rachel was right to be on edge.
