The mystery fracas at Barbados wedding of Molly-Mae’s friend

‘Honoured to have been by your side,’ read Molly-Mae Hague’s Instagram caption beneath a gorgeous black-and-white photograph shared with her 8.5million followers.

Beaming with a bouquet in hand, she looked every inch the proud bridesmaid, pictured celebrating with her manager and close friend, Francesca Britton, at Francesca’s wedding to Fleetwood Town goalkeeper Jay Lynch.

The setting was as exotic as you’d expect – a sun-soaked ceremony in Barbados at the famed Lone Star restaurant, one of the island’s most exclusive beachfront venues.

Of course, there were also photos of Molly-Mae and her boyfriend Tommy Fury’s daughter Bambi, then just four months old, being carried down the aisle as a flower girl.

This ‘perfect’ day was plastered on social media after Francesca and Jay tied the knot in June 2023.

But now I can reveal that, in a classic example of Instagram vs reality, the beach wedding party in Barbados was hardly the idyllic occasion it was made out to be.

For once the ceremony and reception came to an end, a guest tells me, things ‘kicked off’ after a mystery incident left revellers stunned and saw police called to the venue.

My source said: ‘There was a lot of drinking. It was a great wedding and everyone was having a brilliant time, but then at around 2 or 3am a row broke out with some locals. The next thing, the police were there.

‘There was a bit of a confrontation with them, and there was a bit of a dispute.

‘It caused huge tensions between some of the guests the next day. There were also some very hungover people who had some explaining to do. What actually happened was all a bit of mystery.’

But none of the chaos seems to have surfaced on social media. Posts from Molly-Mae and Fran, as she’s known to close friends, showed no signs of any disruption or unease – just more sun-drenched smiles and boastful posts on Instagram in the days following the wedding.

‘It did feel a little bit unfair on Fran, it was her wedding and it should have been an entirely joyful occasion. The drama is said to have been an unwelcome distraction,’ says my source.

The mystery dispute certainly didn’t stop Fran from having a wonderful wedding. She and her husband Jay, who have two sons together, stayed at Footprints on the Sand, an exclusive villa next to the Fairmont hotel, while Molly-Mae and Tommy were in an accompanying beachfront property in Holetown, St James.

And while there was no suggestion that Tommy was involved in the booze-fuelled dispute, Molly-Mae has previously hinted at her concerns about her partner Tommy’s drinking at her sister’s wedding in 2024.

Molly-Mae also broke down in tears months after her long-serving manager’s big day while filming her Amazon Prime documentary, Molly-Mae: Behind It All, admitting that Tommy’s drinking caused ‘severe’ problems in their relationship.

In one scene from the documentary, she can be seen crying over Tommy betraying her at her sister Zoe’s wedding by drinking after she ‘begged’ him to stay sober for the event.

She said: ‘He’s never had an alcohol problem, but alcohol caused problems for us. It got to a point where I wasn’t looking forward to anything because alcohol affected it so much.’

Molly-Mae continued: ‘At my sisters wedding I pleaded with Tommy, like I begged him to not drink and it’s just really sad.’

While the truth behind the mystery incident in Barbados remains unclear, what I do know is that what we see on Instagram is only a fragment of what lies beneath the surface.

I’m told ITV bosses are planning to extend the official Love Island podcast beyond its current run alongside the show, in a bid to make the most of the booming business in post-show conversations.

Traditionally, former Islanders do the rounds on independent podcasts, spilling behind-the-scenes stories and candid takes on relationships, and talking about fame and life after the villa, all of which attract huge audiences.

The problem this causes for ITV is clear: while it creates the stars and storylines, much of the social-media engagement and money-making opportunities with Islanders take place beyond the villa. But that could all change.

One insider told me: ‘These podcasts take all the talent and stories and ITV are looking at how they can profit from that.’

Extending the official podcast would keep fans engaged within ITV’s own ecosystem and I know I’d definitely tune in.

A TikTok row has erupted after American influencer Tatiana Elizabeth accused another creator of using AI to edit herself into one of her own photos.

Tatiana claimed Lauren Blake Boultier took an image of her – originally shot at the 2024 US Open in Pinehurst, North Carolina – and edited her own face onto Tatiana’s body, then posted it, claiming it was taken at the Miami Open.

Lauren Blake Boultier edited her own face onto Tatiana’s body, then posted it, claiming it was taken at the Miami Open

Posting a side-by-side comparison video, Tatiana quickly called out Lauren, saying she was ‘perplexed’ by the incident and wanted her fellow creator to take accountability for plagiarising her photo.

The clip quickly went viral, with many suggesting the copy-cat post crossed the line from editing to identity theft.

Tennis champ and two-time grand slam winner Coco Gauff even weighed in on the scandal, commenting that the court in Lauren’s photo wasn’t in Miami.

An apology was eventually issued, but Tatiana didn’t believe it was genuine as Lauren shifted the blame for the post, claiming she has used an ‘AI content agency’ for her posts.

My question is: why is she using the AI agency in the first place? And is this the future of influencing? No problem if you can’t be at the most exclusive events, you can just AI yourself there.

Who’s Up, Who’s Down

UP: Red Bull UK’s latest brand trip involved taking a group of influencers – Amber Rose Gill, Molly Marsh and her boyfriend Romell Henry among them – to complete the 37,000 step Three Peaks challenge in the Yorkshire Dales.

Other creators included Esmee Gummer, Star Kiely, who took on the challenge to promote the new Spring Edition Cherry Sakura drink.

The trip tied in with Red Bull’s latest push to get everyone up and moving, thanks to its collab with Strava, but let’s be real, it’s also a chance to gather some of the internet’s favourite faces in one very aesthetic location.

What made this trip so unique is that it wasn’t about promoting a super glam, full-face-of-makeup type lifestyle, but one that promoted a healthy mental and physical challenge.

DOWN: As much as I champion being open and honest on social media, I can’t help but feel concerned about London-based creator Antonia Higham’s posts on getting a face and lip lift aged 28.

She’s posted no fewer than 27 videos since the end of March about the procedure she had in Istanbul.

In one video she said: ‘This is something I have wanted forever. Even since I was 18. I wish as my younger self I could have these videos of someone going through this experience. I just want that youthful, lifted, fresh look.’

Unsurprisingly, her videos have received a fair amount of backlash from concerned viewers, with one commenting: ‘This made me ridiculously sad, the doctor who said yes to this needs reporting.’

It’s that time of year where the influencer Olympics roll around, or should I say, Coachella. My feed has been filled with creators documenting their travels to LA. And I have also seen many begging brands to take them.

One popular influencer, who I won’t disclose so as not to embarrass her, told her followers last week: ‘My plan is to fly to LA and then find tickets. In an ideal situation I will get VIP tickets.’

Three videos later and she says she’s secured them, so I guess it works…

Harry Styles in ballet flats on the red carpet at the 2026 Brit Awards

Harry Styles has put ballet flats back on the map after wearing them about town and on the red carpet at the 2026 Brit Awards.

And my faves for this summer are the Spanish based, influencer-approved Alohas.

Thanks to Harry, this is what all the cool girls (and boys) will be wearing this summer, especially as they now have a new shop just off Carnaby Street.
