In a longtime Traitors tradition, the contestants were treated to a dinner party where they all revealed how they would choose the prize fund.
But Faithful Jack Butler might have let it slip he has won the show.
During Friday’s episode, Jack, 29, shared that if he wins the prize money he would like to put a deposit down on a house and propose to his girlfriend.
In a sign that his plans materialised, Jack did in fact pop the question to his girlfriend in Santorini in July, as he shared an array of happy snaps to social media.
Before the hit series aired, he confessed that he had ‘secret plans’ to propose to his partner and ‘spend a bit of money taking her somewhere nice’.
And speaking at the dinner party, which aired on Friday, Jack said: ‘My girlfriend and I, as most people in the UK do, struggle to get on the property ladder so it would be nice to kind of contribute towards the deposit. I want to be putting a ring on it in a few months’ time.
‘Yeah I’ve got a secret plan, the ring’s already sorted so it’s a massive surprise.’
‘So is this your engagement party?’ Rachel asked, as Jack laughed and said: ‘Yeh go on then. Oh yeah.’
While Jack has appeared to have shared limited pictures online of the proposal, he did post a snap holding his girlfriend’s hand, boasting a huge diamond ring, and confessed she was his ‘new fiancée’.
Pictures of the engagement saw Jack get down on one knee as they sailed around the Aegean Sea, two months after the series was filmed in Scotland.
Jack has kept relatively quiet about the big moment, but pictures of the special occasion were shared on the Instagram page of the jewellery brand Durham Rose.
The post reads: ‘Our client’s proposal is giving us all the Pinterest vibes. Dreamy Santorini, sun-kissed yacht, and a YES to this beautifully bespoke ring.
‘Thank you for trusting us to create this special piece. We’re honoured to be part of your love story.’
The Daily Mail contacted the BBC for a comment at the time.
It comes after a very emotional roundtable for The Traitors contestants on Friday, as the final eight players were decided.
Dr Ellie Buckley, 33, broke down in tears as she received the most votes and was banished, but left the group shocked with her final speech.
Along with announcing she is a Faithful, psychologist Ellie revealed that she is in a relationship with Ross Garshong, 37, who had already been voted off the BBC show.
‘I do have a confession I’d like to make before I go. I didn’t come in here alone. I actually came in with my boyfriend, Ross,’ she said.
Viewers were let in on the secret during episode four, but her fellow contestants were left speechless by the news.
Suspicion about the two knowing each other began the moment they boarded the train in the Scottish Highlands in the first episode on New Year’s Day.
The pair, both from London, were sitting opposite one another and were deemed by viewers as being too familiar for supposedly meeting for the first time.
Additionally, a group photo, which includes Ellie and Ross, from a work trip in June 2024 surfaced, confirming that they knew each other before the show.
They have also both posted holiday snaps from the same Tenerife location since filming ended last May.
Ellie shared snaps in a bikini, thought to be taken at the swanky Tivoli La Caleta Tenerife Resort, and captioned them: ‘Some winter sun is good for the soul.’
Ross, who is a fifth-ranked muscle model in Europe, also posted two Instagram snaps on a trip captioned: ‘Suns out, guns out. Holiday gains in Tenerife! Quick question – do you train on holiday?’
Ross became the third contestant to be banished from Ardross Castle after fellow players grew suspicious of him because he knew contestant Netty Österberg, 42.
Elsewhere during Friday’s episode, Jessie Roux was brutally murdered by the Traitors, leaving only eight contestants in the competition.
Then the episode ended with Traitors Rachel and Stephen having to pick a Faithful to give the ceremonial dagger to.
Whoever possesses the dagger will get a double vote at the next roundtable, and with the final only days away, it could change the game.
