It’s known as the Oscars of the fashion world and always attracts a host of A-listers.
But at this year’s Met Gala, the stars risked being outshined by their nepo baby children who were out in force on the red carpet on Monday.
Leading the pack was Maya Hawke, the daughter of actors Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke who were married for seven years.
The 27-year-old, who has followed her parents into showbusiness, wore a grey sleeveless dress with a sheer overlay and floral print.
Maya, who gained international recognition for her role as Robin Buckley on Stranger Things, completed her look with a black headband and red heels.
Also in attendance was singer Gracie Abrams, the daughter of Hollywood director J.J. Abrams and his wife Katie McGrath.

She looked incredible in a mermaid dress with a structured, bejewelled bodice and a flowing train.
Gracie has been in a relationship with Normal People star Paul Mescal since 2024, although he did not attend the event.
Nicole Kidman was joined at this year’s Met Gala by her daughter Sunday Rose, 17, who she shares with her ex-husband Keith Urban.
Sunday’s attendance seemingly broke Met Gala rules as event organisers have previously said the event is not ‘appropriate’ for anyone under 18.
Dance Moms star Maddie Ziegler said in 2018 that she was not allowed go that year because she wasn’t ‘old enough’.
An exception may have been made for Sunday as her mother Nicole was a co-chair at this year’s event.
Another co-chair for the 2026 gathering was Beyoncé who walked the red carpet with her 14-year-old daughter Blue Ivy. Blue wore a white midi dress and a matching jacket with a dramatic train.

Gigi has acknowledged getting a head start in the fashion business thanks to her mother but still feels she had to work hard to make it.
‘My parents told me, ‘Just because you have parents who were successful, it doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t walk into the job being as nice and as hard-working as you can be,’ she told the Sunday Times.
Zoe Kravitz, 37, has carved out a successful career as an actress, appearing in films like The Batman, Blink Twice and Divergent.
