Met Gala fans blasted the star-studded event on Monday with some claiming sponsor Jeff Bezos had made the once-exclusive soirée feel ‘gauche.’

Several of the Amazon founder’s billionaire peers were among those in attendance, including the Soros siblings, Mark Zuckerberg, Walmart heir S. Robson Walton, and Mike Bloomberg.
Earlier in the evening, stars arrived to the Met for fashion’s biggest night amid a backdrop of protesters and celebrity outrage.
Anna Wintour was among the first to turn up, pairing her trademark sunglasses with a bright turquoise gown.
Fashion is Art was the theme for this year’s event, which wasco-chaired by a superstar panel lineup featuring the ex-Vogue chief, Beyonce, Nicole Kidman and Venus Williams.
But this year’s gala has been marred with controversy. Hollywood is furious that it was sponsored by Amazon billionaire Bezos, 62, and his wife Lauren Sanchez, 56, who gave a rumored $10 million to the Costume Institute in exchange for being named honorary co-chairs.

‘The Bezos leading the Met Gala is a clear example of losers who are rich trying to buy their way into cool,’ a fourth wrote.
A fifth added, ‘Now that we got that out of the way, this was the worst met gala in years and it’s not even close.’
