Met Gala fans blame Jeff Bezos for ‘worst event ever’

Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos skipped the red carpet while attending the Met Gala he allegedly paid $10 million to co-chair.

He was pictured inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art with his wife’s sister, Elena Sanchez Blair.

Meanwhile, Lauren Sanchez mocked over her ’embarrassing’ dancing as she hit the red carpet solo.

Fashion fans slammed Jeff Bezos for sponsoring this year’s Met Gala which they say was ‘gauche’ and a ‘billionaire’s ball.’

Bezos reportedly paid $10 million in exchange for being named honorary co-chair of the event with his wife, Lauren Sanchez.

Several other billionaires were in attendance, including the Soros siblings, Mark Zuckerberg , Walmart heir S. Robson Walton and Mike Bloomberg.

‘I think part of the lesson of the Met Gala is that rich people will make everything gauche eventually,’ a second person added.

‘I hate the Met Gala. It’s a glaring display of just out of touch the rich really are,’ wrote a third person.

‘The Bezos leading the Met Gala is a clear example of losers who are rich trying to buy their way into cool,’ a fourth wrote.

A fifth added, ‘Now that we got that out of the way, this was the worst met gala in years and it’s not even close.’

On the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art Monday night, the ongoing trend of gaunt-looking celebrities appeared to take its final form.

Perhaps the Met Gala was the perfect setting for A-list stars and fashion icons to showcase their slim appearances; after all, the Costume Institute’s spring exhibition is entirely focused on the human figure.

The 2026 dress code, ‘Fashion Is Art,’ instructed guests to wear garments that celebrated the dressed body in the context of art. But amid the rise of weight loss injections being hijacked by skinny-obsessed celebrity culture, a dress code that highlights the human body in all its natural glory has undoubtedly arrived about ten years too late.

Fans were outraged by this year’s Met Gala looks, accusing celebrities of failing to understand the theme of the night, Fashion is Art.
