Heartwarming moment Queen Letizia and her daughters use sign language

Queen Letizia and her daughters Princesses Leonor and Sofía have used sign language in a sweet video from a Marivent Palace reception in Majorca.

The Spanish royals hosted a glittering summer reception at their official Balearic residence last week, welcoming local authorities and dignitaries to the lavish event.

However it was a sweet, spontaneous moment that stole the show, when Queen Letizia, 52, and her daughters used sign language to connect with the deaf community.

Ana María Ruiz, president of the Mallorca Deaf Persons Association, was among the guests invited to the royal occasion.

After meeting the royals, Ana shared the touching video on her Instagram page, which showed Queen Letizia and her daughters smiling warmly at the camera as they each signed their names, followed by a round of applause.

‘Yesterday I had the honour of attending the King’s reception at the Marivent Palace,’ Ana wrote on Instagram.

‘It was a unique moment, even more special by the presence of Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia, who attended for the first time.

‘As president of the Mallorca Deaf Persons Association, I had the opportunity to teach them some basic signs in sign language.

‘I also bumped into sports greats like Rafa Nadal and Rudy Fernandez. An unforgettable experience.’

The royals looked stylish in the clip, as they donned colourful chic summer dresses to the event.

Leonor oozed confidence in a blue and white off the shoulder midi dress and her blonde locks were swept back in a low ponytail.

Her younger sister Sofía donned a satin pink and orange gown and she let her brunette locks fall loose.

Meanwhile, their mother Letizia looked typically stylish in a cream gown which featured lace detailing.

It comes after Queen Letizia stepped out with her daughters to attend a Film Festival in Majorca last week.

The Spanish monarch looked relaxed in a stylish monochrome dress as she enjoyed the summer outing with her daughters in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.

The royals were spotted attending a screening of ‘En un Lugar de la Mente’ during the Atlantida Film Festival at Rivoli Cinema.

Letizia looked typically chic, pairing her chic summer gown with black sandals and a leather handbag.

Meanwhile, Princess Sofia donned a flowy black midi dress which she paired with black sandals like her mother’s.

Crown Princess Leonor, who recently successfully completed her naval training, looked stylish in casual wide leg trousers and a white lace top.

She completed her summer look with brown sandals and a woven bag, which she wore across her body.

The royal trio were seen taking in the island sights during their annual summer holiday.

After the screening, the mother and daughters posed for snaps outside the venue.

The holiday comes after Princess Leonor received the Navy Merit Grand Cross and a warm hug from her proud father King Felipe at Flag Pledge Ceremony.

The future queen attended the solemn Flag Pledge (Jura de Bandera) and delivery of Dispatches of Employment ceremony at the prestigious Naval Military Academy in Marín, Pontevedra, Spain, last month.

In a poignant moment symbolising her growing role within the Spanish monarchy, Leonor received the honour from the hands of her father.

The award acknowledges her commitment and connection to Spain’s armed forces and marks a significant milestone in her royal journey.

The Navy Merit Grand Cross is a high-level military decoration awarded for distinguished service within the Navy.

Leonor’s mother, Queen Letizia, and younger sister, Princess Sofia, beamed as they proudly watching the ceremony.

Leonor looked graceful and poised as she proudly donned the crisp white uniform, donning a shirt with epaulettes, which she tucked into a pair of belted smart trousers
