Shirley Ballas, 65, reveals the secrets to her ageless looks

Shirley Ballas has revealed the secrets of her ageless looks as she shared footage from her intense skin treatments ahead of her new show.

Documenting the day on Instagram, the 65-year-old could be seen in a clinic having a procedure on her face as a professional applied white numbing cream to her entire face.

Holding her camera up, Shirley explained to fans: ‘Just in the clinic with this young lady here, we’re putting the numbing cream on and I’m just about to have my NeoGen treatment that I have approximately every three months to keep my skin nice and bright and lifted.

‘And very excited today, I think we’re gonna go to one today, are we trying?’

Shirley then asked the expert to explain exactly what the procedure does, as she said: ‘So at a one, this will help start tightening the skin, it’ll help build collagen in the skin and lift and tighten.

‘It will also work on any pigmentation because that’s done at the lower energy, so one will hit that and the tightening, and yeah, you get a nice refresh.’

Shirley then added: ‘Yes, I think I look rather good, I look like I’ve got fresh cream all over my face, but numbing cream, and then I’m gonna have a little bit of Profhilo and maybe a little Botox.

‘I love a bit of every now and again, just every now and again.’

Shirley previously splashed out a massive £4,400 on high-tech aesthetic procedures including a course of NeoGen nitrogen plasma treatments from top Harley Street doctor, Dr Johanna Ward.

Last year, Shirley underwent a course of six NeoGen nitrogen plasma treatments at the W1 Skin Clinic, in London.

The procedure is completely non-invasive and works by tricking the body into producing high levels of collagen and elastin, key proteins that create youthful and radiant skin.

Her treatments come as she travelled to the press shoot day for the US spin-off of Dancing With The Stars.

Earlier this month she appeared in an Instagram video alongside Robert Irwin, where she announced she would be appearing on Dancing With The Stars: The Next Pro.

The series will follow dancers auditioning to become one of the professional dancers on the upcoming series of the main show, with 12 contestants vying for a contract as a professional dancer on the Dancing With The Stars cast.

Shirley will be judging the programme alongside Mark, who is already a pro on the Disney+ show.

Shirley and Robert, who will host the programme, said: ‘It’s a new era where you are going to get to see what it takes to be a pro on Dancing With The Stars as we search for the next pro.

’12 of the very best dancers from around the world [are] going to be battling it out for the role of a lifetime. It’s going to be pretty amazing. Make sure you tune in on July the 13th!’

Among those set to appear is former Strictly pro AJ Pritchard, and if he wins the show, it could prove to be an awkward reunion, as Maura Higgins, who dated his brother Curtis, is set to compete on the upcoming season.

Previously speaking about her cosmetic treatments, Shirley said:  ‘It’s not cheap but I think it’s a worthwhile investment in yourself. Before I started having these treatments, I was really getting down because my skin was sagging. My jawline wasn’t defined. I was really getting myself in a place where I didn’t feel great about myself.

‘I thought, that’s it now, you’re over the hill, but now when I look in the mirror, I see this fresh face and my confidence has been restored, and so it’s been worth every penny.’

Shirley’s low energy NeoGen treatments had very little down-time between sessions so it did not get in the way of her busy work schedule.

The dance legend said: ‘I’m constantly working so I can’t have any period of downtime but with these low energy treatments I might have a slight bit of redness the next day but it’s nothing you can’t cover up with some makeup and it doesn’t last.

‘As regards the pain, it’s not totally pain-free but it’s bearable. Dr. Johanna Ward puts on a numbing cream for about 20 minutes to 30 minutes. She’s chatting away to me, as she’s doing the treatments, which take about half an hour, and before you know it, it’s finished.

‘It is a little bit uncomfortable because I’m a bit of a wimp basically, but I’ve gotten used to it, and I actually don’t mind it now because I know what results I’m going to get.’
