The girlfriend of disgraced rugby player Stuart Hogg revealed today that they have split up just months after having their first child together.
Former jockey Leonna Mayor had been in a relationship with the 33-year-old former Scotland captain and they had a son called Teddy in February last year.
She gave birth to their child only weeks after the former Glasgow Warriors and Exeter Chiefs player was spared jail for domestic abuse of his estranged wife Gillian.
But TV presenter Mayor, 34, confirmed in a post on her Instagram profile today that she was ‘no longer with Stuart’, adding: ‘We’ll just say it’s just me and Teddy.’
The ITV and Sky racing pundit wrote: ‘Now seems as good a time as any – lots of you guys asking about my situation and life recently. I am no longer with Stuart.
‘I appreciate everyone’s genuine interest in our life. I’m not one to discuss other people’s lives so won’t add detail. We’ll just say it’s just me and Teddy.
‘It has been for a while now so I am in a position to be able to talk about our future with friends and family and those closest to us. New year. Fresh start. Me and the most precious thing. Lots of exciting things planned in life and work coming up.’
Hogg had made his relationship with Mayor – previously dubbed ‘the world’s sexiest jockey’ – official on Instagram in January 2024 with a post after a day at the races.
Teddy, who was Hogg’s fifth child, was born prematurely on February 12 last year at just 4lb 6oz before being allowed home following a short stay in hospital.
But Hogg last made an appearance on Mayor’s Instagram just a few weeks later in March and she has since been posting photos of herself in a bikini and with Teddy.
Hogg admitted a five-year course of domestic abuse against his now ex-wife Gillian at Selkirk Sheriff Court in November 2024 but was spared jail.
The full-back also admitted shouting and swearing and acting in an abusive manner towards her, as well as repeatedly tracking her movements and sending messages of an alarming and distressing nature.
The court heard Hogg had once sent Gillian more than 200 messages in just a couple of hours.
Sheriff Peter Paterson ordered Hogg to complete a community payback order with one year of supervision as an alternative to jail when he sentenced him in January 2025.
Dr Marsha Scott, chief executive of Scottish Women’s Aid, called the sentence ‘trivial’ at the time and said Hogg allegedly subjected his former partner to a ‘regime of terror for five years’.
A review hearing last June at Jedburgh Sheriff Court said there was no need for a further review of the order.
Hogg also sparked fury last October after blaming alcohol and antidepressants for his domestic abuse and said he had made a mistake quitting the game to save his marriage.
Hogg and Gillian wed in 2016 but split up in November 2023, and his romance with Mayor came to light just days after Gillian gave birth to their fourth child.
He was awarded an MBE in the 2024 New Year’s Honours but calls were later made to have him stripped of the honour.
Last November it was revealed he had slashed £200,000 off the asking price for his home in Hawick, Roxburghshire, after struggling to find a wealthy buyer.
Hogg and Gillian put the five-bedroom property up for sale after their split, having paid nearly £700,000 in 2022.
They advertised it in April last year for £850,000, before this was reduced to £795,000. Another £200,000 was then knocked off, taking it down to £595,000.
Hogg won 100 caps for his country and came out of retirement in July 2024 to sign for French side Montpellier. He was also involved in three British and Irish Lions tours.
Hogg remains one of Scotland’s all-time leading try scorers and was awarded an MBE in the 2024 New Year honours list for services to rugby union but there have been calls to strip him of the title.
