Royal-favourite designer Amanda Wakeley has teamed up with John Lewis on a spring capsule that is set to be one of the strongest high street collaborations this season.
Wakeley, who has famously dressed Diana, Princess of Wales as well as Catherine, Princess of Wales, and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, brings her signature ease and elegance to the 16-piece range.
That enduring design legacy is evident throughout, resulting in a collection that feels both timeless and modern, with pieces that will appeal to women of all ages.
From fluid tailoring to draped separates and lace-detail dresses, everything is designed to slot seamlessly into an existing wardrobe and work across multiple occasions – whether that’s weddings, summer events or elevated everyday dressing.
The colour palette is particularly strong: rich green and saffron, balanced with cooler blues and statement prints.
There’s also a real focus on comfort, with wrap details, wide-leg silhouettes and soft, fluid fabrics that don’t feel restrictive – something I think makes a big difference when shopping for occasionwear.
Many of the pieces also feel like they would appeal to Princess Kate thanks to their polished aesthetic.
Fabrication-wise, it leans premium for the high street, with silk blends and elevated finishes that give the pieces a more luxe feel than their price point might suggest.
Speaking of which, prices start at £175 for silk-blend camisoles and go up to £395 for maxi dresses, so it sits at the higher end of the high street, but in my view, the quality and wearability help justify the investment.
If you’re looking for occasionwear that feels modern, flattering and easy to wear, this is a collection well worth considering.
