Trump’s link to Rob Reiner’s wife revealed: LIVE

Rob Reiner’s wife Michele Singer was a photographer who had previously shot the cover for Donald Trump’s 1987 breakout book The Art of the Deal.

Singer, 70, was also an actress and later worked with her husband Rob Reiner on his films Misery and Spinal Tap II.

President Donald Trump claimed Reiner and Singer’s murders were the result of what he called ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’ in a post on Truth Social on Monday.

Trump said that Reiner, a ‘once very talented movie director and comedy star,’ had passed away ‘reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease’ known as TDS – or Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Reiner’s son Nick was booked by the LA County Sheriff’s Office on Monday after an unidentified family member was questioned in connection with the murders of the director and his wife.

According to a police source who spoke to the Associated Press, investigators believe the couple suffered brutal stab wounds and were found with their throats slit. Nick, who has two siblings, is currently being held in custody on a no bail hold. He was previously held on $4m bail, but police records later indicted that was rescinded.

Follow along for the latest updates.

Michele Singer photographed Trump’s Art of the Deal cover

Rob Reiner’s wife, Michele Singer, was a photographer who captured the cover image of Donald Trump used on his book, Trump: The Art of the Deal.

Trump co-wrote the book with Tony Schwartz, detailing his real estate career, business philosophy and negotiating tactics.

After the news of the couple’s death broke, the president claimed they died because of ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome.’

The president said that Reiner, a ‘once very talented movie director and comedy star,’ had passed away ‘reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease’ known as TDS – or Trump Derangement Syndrome.

TDS, those on the right explain, is a disease of hatred or unreasonable disdain of the Republican president, a joke-turned-diagnosis that’s so notorious that members of Congress have introduced legislation to study the affliction.

‘He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness,’ the president’s post continued.

Investigators said they were called to the $ 13.5 million mansion around 3.40pm PT on Sunday.

‘One inside the residence, officers discovered two victims, who were subsequently identified as Robert and Michele Reiner,’ the LAPD said.

‘The investigation further revealed that Nick Reiner, the 32-year-old son of Robert and Michele Reiner, was responsible for their deaths.’

In an episode of the Dopey podcast in 2018, Nick Reiner described the time he destroyed his parents’ guesthouse while ‘spun out’ on meth after being told to leave.

Host David Mannheim asked Nick: ‘What about when you wrecked the guesthouse on meth?’

‘I got totally spun out on uppers. I think it was coke and something else,’ Nick replied.

‘I was up for days on end. I started punching out different things in my guest house.

‘I started with the TV and then went over to the lamp. Everything in the guesthouse got wrecked.’

When asked if punching the furniture was a way to relieve tension, Nick replied: ‘No, you’re crazy. No logic.’

Sir Paul McCartney remembers Rob Reiner

Sir Paul McCartney, who had a role in Rob Reiner’s latest film, posted a heartful tribute for the director.

‘What a tragedy the death of Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele, is. It is so shocking in many ways but for me especially so, because over the last year I had been working with him. He directed me in “Spinal Tap II: The End Continues.” He was such an upbeat, lovable man,’ McCartney wrote.

Life can be so unfair and this tragedy proves it. His father, Carl Reiner, was a great humorist before him and Rob followed in his dad’s footsteps doing a terrific job making many great films. I will always have fond memories of Rob and the idea that he and his wife will no longer be in the world with us is heartbreaking.
