Princess Charlotte ‘loves KPop Demon Hunters’

Princess Charlotte is a fan of Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters.

The 10-year-old daughter of the Prince and Princess of Wales is said to love the show, according to a schoolgirl who wrote her.

Six-year-old Ivy Brown, from Wokingham in Berkshire, sent a letter to Princess Charlotte asking if she’d watched the ‘best movie ever’.

She received a response from The Palace’s Head of Correspondence, who told her ‘generous words of support for Princess Charlotte were greatly appreciated’, according to a copy of the letter obtained by The Sun.

The palace added that its most popular song – performed by the titular Korean pop singers who moonlight as demon slayers – Golden was even played during Changing the Guard at Buckingham Palace.

The letter was dated September 25 and read: ‘The Prince and Princess of Wales would have me thank you for your lovely letter to their daughter, Princess Charlotte.

‘It was interesting to learn a little about yourself, and your generous words of support for Princess Charlotte were greatly appreciated.

A photo showed Ivy beaming as she held the letter, as the young royal fan told the publication ‘I think that Charlotte loves KPop Demon Hunters, so I’m happy’.

Asked where she keeps her prized possession, she replied: ‘I keep it safe, I keep it in the kitchen.’

The animated movie was recently declared Netflix’s most popular film of all time, after KPop Demon Hunters amassed a staggering 325 million views.

Following its release on June 20, the musical surpassed Red Notice as the streamer’s most-watched movie, then went on to beat the first season of the dystopian Korean drama Squid Game – becoming Netflix’s most successful release ever.

Netflix’s smash hit follows three members of a superstar South Korean girl pop group, who also lead double lives as demon hunters.

Huntr/x’s Rumi, Mira, and Zoey face their greatest threat when they come up against rival band the Saja Boys, who are demons in disguise with a vicious plan to devour the souls of their unassuming fans.

In August, KPop Demon Hunters had a limited theatrical release with more than 1,000 sold-out screenings across the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.

The screenings, held over two days, propelled KPop Demon Hunters to the top of the US box office, with fans branding the Netflix sensation the ‘closest thing to a rave for kids’.

One fan wrote on X/Twitter: ‘WILD night! K-POP DEMON HUNTERS big-screen sing-along was completely sold out and the closest thing prepubescents get to a throwing a rave. There were glow sticks, there was dancing, and my goodness was there singing!

Others penned: ‘My favorite moment from the K-Pop Demon Hunters sing-a-long: when all the tiny dancers and singers at my theater started chanting “Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!” after “Free.”

‘Kpop Demon Hunters theatrical sing along was one of the best ideas of this year holy f**k this was so fun

‘Being in a sold out theater tonight, with a bunch of kids and tweens singing their hearts out, and every parent/adult in the audience (me included!) clapping along and cheering them on, was one of the most magical movie moments ever. This is what it all about.

‘What a great way to spend time with the family…singing along with the crowd and a standing ovation at the end of the movie.’

As per The Hollywood Reporter, KPop Demon Hunter’s theatrical release has grossed $18 million to $20 million from 1,700 North American theaters, making it the ‘highest showing of any movie over the Aug. 22-24 weekend’.

The soundtrack of the animated action film has been equally popular, as songs performed by both the fictional bands have conquered global music charts.

BBC reported that a whopping seven songs from the movie have been featured on the Billboard 100 in the United States, while the most popular track – Golden – made UK chart history as the joint-longest-running number one single by an animated act.

The film's most popular song  - performed by the titular Korean pop singers who moonlight as demon slayers - Golden was even played during Changing the Guard at Buckingham Palace.

Huntr/X’s hit enjoyed eight non-consecutive weeks atop the Official Singles Chart, bringing Golden at par with Sugar, Sugar by The Archies after the fictional band achieved the same feat in 1969.

The creator and co-director of KPop Demon Hunters, Maggie Kang recently addressed sequel speculation while noting she’s ‘excited’ by the possibility of a follow-up.

‘There’s definitely more we can do with these characters in this world,’ the Korean-Canadian filmmaker told BBC, before adding nothing has been confirmed yet.

‘Whatever it will be, it will be a story that deserves to be a sequel, and it will be something that we want to see.’
