Prince Harry shows off his polo skills in fierce match in snowy Aspen

Temperatures in Aspen drop well below freezing in December as the rich and famous flock to the exclusive winter resort to enjoy some skiing.

But Meghan Markle was clearly feeling hot under the collar as she posted a photo of Prince Harry in a snow polo match with the saucy caption: ‘Oh, hello there’.

The Duchess of Sussex uploaded the image to her Instagram page of her husband competing in the World Snow Polo Championships in Colorado yesterday.

Harry donned a vibrant blue pullover, black helmet, white trousers and black sunglasses as he rode on the back of a brown horse and held a polo mallet.

The Duke was joined on his team at Rio Grande Park by polo stars Grant Gazi and Nic Roldan – while his close friend Nacho Figueras was on another side.

Harry and Figueras first met in 2006 at a charity match for Sentebale, a charity which was set up by the prince and later counted Figueras as a patron.

The friends have played polo alongside one another in various matches over the years, and Figueras has become one of the Sussexes’ most vocal supporters.

The model – dubbed the ‘David Beckham of Polo’ – was also among a handful of the couple’s closest confidantes who appeared in their 2022 Netflix documentary.

Their last match together was in Florida in April 2024, before Harry quit the charity amid a row over bullying and mismanagement.

The Duke is a talented skier, having regularly visited the Swiss Alps in his childhood with his mother Princess Diana and father King Charles III.

Harry spent many childhood holidays skiing with his brother Prince William and Charles, from the slopes of Klosters to Whistler in Canada.

However, he has steered clear of the slopes in more recent years since meeting Meghan, who is not believed to be a fan of the sport.

The Duchess and their children, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four, were nowhere to be seen on his latest winter trip.

In London, the King, William and the rest of the Royal Family sat down for the traditional pre-Christmas lunch without Harry on Tuesday.

Also among those present at Buckingham Palace were Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice – but not their parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson.

Yesterday, it was revealed Harry and Meghan are involved in a new Netflix production, four months after signing their first-look deal with the streaming giant.

The Duke and Duchess will be producing an adaptation of the romance novel The Wedding Date by bestselling author Jasmine Guillory.

The book was published in 2018 and became the first in a six-book series. It is being adapted by screenwriter Tracy Oliver, who was behind the 2017 movie Girls Trip.

Harry and Meghan are working on the project for their Archewell Productions arm alongside film producer Tracy Ryerson.
