Police appeal after burglars steal £500k of gold and jewellery

Police are on the hunt for burglars who stole £500,000 of gold and jewellery in a daytime raid while the owners were at home.

The loot was taken from a property on Bickley Road, Bromley on the evening of December 30, 2024.

CCTV footage shows three men breaking in via a bathroom window at around 5.40pm before leaving 45 minutes later.

The home owners remained in the property throughout the extensive burglary.

Officers have released pictures of the stolen belongings and are appealing to members of the public to check if they recognise any of the pieces, including items of expensive gold jewellery.

Detective Constable Jamie White, of the Met Police’s South Area Command Unit, said: ‘While the monetary value of this theft is enormous, the sentimental value is priceless – with many of the pieces being passed down through generations of the family.

‘Helpfully, a number of the pieces stolen are unique, so we are hoping that releasing these photographs will jog someone’s memory.
