Oscar nominated 80s star is unrecognizable in a California market

She’s the quirky and talented beauty who has entertained audiences with her movies and music since the age of fifteen when she starred in a famous 1989 class Christmas comedy opposite Chevy Chase.

At seventeen she met and began a four-year relationship with an actor who would become People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive in 1995 and 2000.

Her offbeat characters in the 1990s included a troubled teen who becomes a prostitute, the girlfriend of a serial killer, and a victim of a psychotic criminal who targets her family while on summer vacation.

This last role earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress in 1992.

Lewis has a quiet confidence about her which has led her to take chances.

In 2003, she took almost a decade off from acting to pursue her other passions such as music.
