Olivia Attwood has hinted at the reason she failed to marry ex Bradley Dack, after it emerged that the pair never legally tied the knot.

The former Love Island star, 34, left ITV bosses ‘blindsided’ when it was revealed that she and Bradley never signed the paperwork to confirm their union, despite marrying in a lavish ceremony that was broadcast by the channel.

Now, Olivia has appeared to reveal she chose not to legally marry Bradley in a bid to ‘protect her fortune’ having amassed huge wealth as an ITV and radio star, with multiple brand deals under her belt.

It comes after a video was shared by Daily Mail’s Health Editor and author Eve Simmons, who explained choosing to stay unmarried would have prevented Olivia from signing a prenup, and she has since ‘liked’ the post on Instagram.

The Daily Mail shared last month that Olivia never made her marriage legally binding as she discovered ‘mistruths’ about him in the weeks after their wedding.

The pair split in January, and Olivia has since accused Bradley of ‘cheating on her multiple times over 10 years.’

Eve captioned her post: ‘Failing to sign on the dotted line was not an act of irresponsibility or forgetfulness… Olivia Attwood was doing what men have done for MILLENIA (protecting her [money emoji])

‘Would love to see her speaking publicly about this to raise awareness of the financial sacrifice that is tying the knot. Protect yourself girls! You never know what’s going to happen!’

In the video, she then explained: ‘Olivia has huge earning potential, she’s rumoured in fact to be worth around £6 million.

‘She’s presented three ITV series and reportedly she gets paid around £350,000 per series. Then there’s the six-figure salary that she gets from her co-presenting role on KISS FM and the brand deals with Maybelline, River Island, and that random jewellery company that does like fake Carter watches. And the endless #Spons.’

‘Brad, on the other hand, earns roughly £15,000 a month as a footballer, that has reduced massively over the last few years since he changed teams from Blackburn Rovers.

‘And what so few people understand is that the minute you get married, technically, all of your assets, including your earnings, are 50/50.

‘In the event of a divorce, the court will take into account future earning potential as well, for instance, if Olivia was to do another six series of ITV and earn like hundreds of thousands.

‘Olivia Attwood is no fool and she clearly took very extensive legal advice in the run-up to the wedding, especially if there were still issues of trust. Choosing to stay unmarried made perfect financial sense.

Olivia 'liked' a video from Daily Mail's Eve Simmons who said she may have chosen not to legally marry Bradley to 'protect her fortune' and avoid the need for a prenup

‘Unless of course they wanted to get a prenup which, a involves lots of awkward conversations, and b, isn’t always watertight and doesn’t always guarantee that you’re gonna take home what you brought into the marriage.

‘I’ll never forget what one divorce lawyer said to me, ”the only way to truly protect your money, is to stay unmarried.”

‘I mean I think you really can’t blame a girl for doing what men have been doing for millenia, which is protecting their buck. What do you think? Do we forgive her?’

After Olivia ‘liked’ the post, Eve then re-shared it on her Stories with the caption: ‘POV: Olivia Attwood lowkey confirms your genius theory about her marriage.’

It comes days after Olivia spoke out about what ‘mistruths’ are as she claimed Bradley ‘lied and cheated’ during their relationship, and now she feels like a ‘f*****g idiot’.

The television personality also denied trying to trick fans over her fake wedding scandal, and confirmed her new romance with Pete Wicks.

Olivia wrote: ‘I have stood by Brad for the last ten years during which he lied and cheated on me multiple times. The breakdown of our relationship is because of this.

‘I was in love with him and the potential I saw in him and wanted always to help him try to be the best version of himself – as I did for 10 years – covering up. Lying to my family and friends. Arranging therapy. Believing the grovelling apologies.

‘I of course now feel like a f*****g idiot. (Especially as more things come to the surface) I never wanted to say any of this. I find the whole situation utterly humiliating.’

Olivia went on to speak about the moment she decided to walk away from the relationship, as well as confirming her relationship with ITV is strong following reports the broadcaster was ‘furious’ over the fake wedding scandal.

She continued: ‘This January when I was confronted at the screening of one of my shows by someone reporting to me yet another night he had gone back with a random girl – I decided it was time to finally leave.

‘I’m not losing my job, I’m not pulling the wool over anyone’s eyes. Yes I’m dating.

‘Yes I’m getting up every single day even when I have cried all night to film the shows I love filming, record my podcast, record my radio show, shoot campaigns and somewhere in there TRY to move on.’

Olivia found fame on the 2017 series of dating show Love Island. She was in a relationship with Bradley that year but joined the cast after discovering he was cheating.

After a brief relationship with Chris Hughes on the show, the TV star rekindled her romance with Bradley in 2019.

ITV commissioned Olivia Meets Her Match, which followed the couple, post engagement in 2020 right up until the seemingly real wedding in 2023, before last month it was revealed there was no official record of the marriage.

Following the breakdown of her relationship, the television personality found comfort in former TOWIE star Pete, and the pair were pictured kissing on a night out in March.

It came days after Olivia spoke out about what 'mistruths' are as she claimed Bradley 'lied and cheated' during their relationship, and now she feels like a 'f*****g idiot'

A friend of the couple said after the pictures emerged of their kiss: ‘Their passionate romance only started in the last few weeks, since she has split from Bradley, there was no overlap.

‘Olivia’s close friends know about this new development and are pleased Pete has put a smile back on her face. He has been a shoulder to cry on and there for Olivia during this really tough time.

‘She has been in the depths of a really horrible break-up and Pete has helped her through it.’

Meanwhile, it has been reported that Bradley has reunited with his ex-girlfriend, Emily Rose Moloney. The news is said to be unsurprising to Olivia.

A source told the publication: ‘After everything Bradley has done, Olivia’s friends can’t believe he is back with his ex all while he’s begging Olivia to take him back.

‘So here it is – Olivia was told he had cheated on her, so went through his phone and saw evidence that confirmed it.’

They added that it was Olivia who ultimately ended the relationship, as it was not the first time she had questioned his fidelity.

They continued: ‘She was trying to respect their ten-year relationship by staying quiet but her friends are bemused as to how Bradley is the one who caused all this, and Liv was still trying to protect him.’

I think I know why OA faked her marriage, and it’s not because her boyfriend is a cheating twit, well it’s not only because of that.

And unpopular opinion but I actually really rate her for it.

Everyone’s coming for Olivia Attwood of LI fame, because she had this very lavish ridiculous wedding filmed for an ITV series and it now transpires that the marriage was in fact totally fake.

That piece of paper that she signed during the show, it was nothing, they weren’t legally married. This has all come out in the wash since she split from Bradley Dack, who allegedly, has been cheating on her.

But why fake a marriage? Olivia has huge earning potential, she’s rumoured in fact to be worth around £6 million.

She’s presented three ITV series and reportedly she gets paid around £350,000 per series. Then there’s the six-figure salary that she gets from her co-presenting role on KISS FM and the brand deals with Maybelline, River Island, and that random jewellery company that does like fake Carter watches.
