Noel and Liam Gallagher make Sunday Times rich list for the first time

Noel and Liam Gallagher have made the Sunday Times Rich List for the first time ever thanks to their £400 million sell-out Oasis reunion tour success.

The siblings have an estimated joint wealth of £375 million as a result of the 41 shows they performed between July and November, having said to have taken home at least £50 million each from the run.

Coming in at number 11 amongst this year’s musicians and industry figures, they join the likes of Sir Elton John, Sir Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Sir Brian May.

The Sunday Times Rich List reveals the highest placing musician is Paul McCartney, who has an estimated worth of £1.055billion, while businessman Sir Leonard Blavatnik, who owns the majority of Warner Music Group tops the list with £26.852 billion.

The survey, which reveals the 350 richest people in Britain, also sees Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis and her family as newcomers to the list, with an estimated wealth of £400 million.

Other musicians include Ed Sheeran, with £410 million; Harry Styles, with £235 million; Adele, with £172 million and Pop star Dua Lipa with a £150 million fortune.

Last summer, Oasis fans were excited at the reunion, some were outraged after some standard tickets in the UK and Ireland jumped from £148 to £355.

The controversy prompted the Government and the UK’s competition watchdog to pledge to look at the use of dynamic pricing.

When Oasis tickets were released ahead of their 2025 tour, fans were left appalled as standard prices sky-rocketed to more than £350, with many unable to secure a seat at one of the coveted gigs.

This month, Disney announced a new Oasis documentary from creator of Peaky Blinders Steven Knight, which will be released September 11.

The movie will document the band’s huge 2025 comeback tour and include once-warring brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher’s first joint interview in 25 years.

A first look snap shows the siblings in great spirits with Liam appearing to tell Noel a joke and leaving him in stitches before taking to the stage.

The brothers’ famously turbulent relationship led to Oasis splitting 15 years ago, following a series of backstage bust-ups, walkouts and booze-fuelled arguments.

However, last year they reunited for an epic 41-date world tour, which kicked off with a huge show at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium in front of more than 70,000 fans.

The as-yet untitled film will also feature footage from the tour’s rehearsals as well as the sibling’s onstage and offstage shenanigans.

Knight said: ‘I genuinely cannot wait for the world to see this film. I believe it captures the spirit and emotion of a global cultural moment and does justice to the wit and genius of two exceptional people’.

‘I wanted to tell the story of the brothers and the band, but just as important, the story of the fans whose lives the music has touched and sometimes changed forever.

‘It is also the story of how music and songwriting can unite generations, cultures, countries and in a time of spite and division, give us all some reason to hope’.

The film, which is believed to replicate Disney+ The Beatles Get Back film, will follow Noel and Liam in the run-up to their high-anticipated gigs in 2025.

A source previously told The Sun: ‘This is set to be the film of the decade, with Apple TV+ proposing huge money to bag the rights to this documentary.

‘They are facing competition from other streamers such as Amazon Prime and Netflix but Apple have thrown all their weight behind this one.

‘Fans can expect it to be in the same style as the Beatles documentary which gave a never-before-seen insight into the band.’
