The best April Fool’s Day pranks you may have fallen for,

It is the one day of the year where you can’t trust anything people say or what you read online. 

And if you haven’t already cottoned on to what date it is, then you probably have already been caught out by one of the many pranks being played by companies, celebrities and news outlets this April Fool’s Day.

All practical jokes must be carried out by midday or it is said you risk becoming the April Fool instead. 

As usual some of the country’s favourite brands have used today as a marketing opportunity with a series of hilarious product releases. 

These include meatball lollipops from Ikea, Wickes’ moon-powered panels and a Dyson Airwrap fit for a cat.

Ikea’s ‘world’s first’ meatball lollipop

Ikea and Chupa Chups have teamed up in a ‘world-first’ collaboration to launch the Meatball Lollipop this April Fool’s Day. 

The daring ‘sweet’ combines classic meatball flavours with tangy lingonberry.

Its release comes after new data showed 46 per cent of us admit to having a major sweet tooth. 

Swedish flatpack furniture brand, Ikea posted on Instagram this morning: ‘We heard you like Swedish candy.

‘So here’s the sweetest mashup no one asked for, but everyone will want to taste!’

Dyson unveils new pet beauty range 

Dyson this morning released a new pet range, describing it as its boldest beauty category launch yet. 

One of the new products is a Dyson Airwrap fit for a cat. The hairdryer is described as ‘slim and feline-friendly’ perfect for curling ‘delicate chest fluff’. 

Another item is the ‘Supersonic Dapper’ – a ‘dryer with a tension comb‑style accessory, perfect for dialling up the volume on poodle curls’.

A spokesperson for the company said: ‘Dyson is set to unveil what might be its boldest beauty category launch yet, a fully engineered styling range designed not just for humans, but for our furrier and fluffier companions. 

‘Think high‑shine Afghan hound blowouts, sculpted Maine Coon curls, and even a sleek, asymmetric fringe moment for a very glamorous horse.’

Wickes leaves homeowners ‘over the moon’ with new lunar panels

Home improvement retailer Wickes today left homeowners ‘over the moon’ as it unveiled its new lunar panel range. 

The tongue-in-cheek concept for April Fools Day claims to capture the power of the moon using specialist technology. 

A spokesperson for Wickes said: ‘While a moon-powered home may still be a dream, solar power is very much a reality.

‘Customers can make better use of solar energy with battery storage, which allows electricity generated during the day to be stored and used later, including in the evening. 

‘Wickes Solar provides tailored solar panel systems with flexible, affordable finance options to match your home and energy needs.’

Tesco releases Giant Boiled Egg for ‘gym heads’ 

In case you are looking to avoid chocolate this Easter, Tesco have unveiled an ‘eggselent’ alternative this April Fool’s Day. 

The ‘Giant Boiled Egg’ is a take on the Tesco Egg Protein Pot which is popular in their Meal Deal range. 

Tesco shared the release on its TikTok account with the caption: ‘Send this to a gym head.’ 

A spokesperson for Tesco said: ‘What could be better than a Tesco Protein Egg Pot?

‘How about an eggstra large, hard-boiled egg that hits all your protein goals in one! We just know customers will think it’s cracking.’

Domino’s unveils the ‘ultimate pot noodle pizza’ 

Domino’s Pizza has released the ‘ultimate pot noodle pizza’ this April Fool’s Day. 

A spokesperson for the company said: ‘Two all-time icons unite to bring you the collab you’ve all been waiting for…

‘Our NEW Pot Noodle Chicken & Mushroom Noodle Stuffed Crust pizza.’

Babybel unveils new ‘Choccybel’

Babybel today unveiled the Choccybel – described as ‘limited edition’ snack that reimagines its iconic peelable cheese with a cocoa-dusted chocolate truffle exterior. 

It has been created in collaboration with multi-award-winning British confectionery brand Monty Bojangles.

A spokesperson said: ‘Developed over 18 months by flavour specialists and dedicated ‘peel engineers’, every detail has been refined to balance texture, taste and that unmistakable reveal.

‘This limited-edition launch taps into the growing appetite for experimental eating – where curiosity leads and expectations are left at the door.’

Dole launches tinned Hawaiian pizza

Dole today announced the launch of its latest culinary innovation, Tinned Hawaiian Pizza. 

Fully assembled, the famously divisive pizza comes sealed in a tin, designed for maximum convenience and practicality. 

Tao Baidoun, brand manager at Dole, said: ‘Research showed that the most common use of our tinned pineapple in the UK is for making homemade Hawaiian pizzas.

‘Since we’re all about making life easier when it comes to fruit, we thought why not simplify things even further and create the full experience in one tin?’
