‘Desperate’ Savannah Guthrie begs public for help before deadline

Savannah Guthrie asked the nation for help in her ‘hour of desperation’ as police race against the clock to find her mother, Nancy Guthrie, before the impending $6 million Bitcoin ransom deadline.

Savannah Guthrie’s 84-year-old mother was abducted from her $1 million Tucson, Arizona, home in the early hours of February 1, with officials confirming they have not identified any suspects in the ongoing case.

As the hunt for Nancy enters its second week, the final ransom deadline for the Today show host’s mother is just hours away.

Local news station KGUN 9 reported that the ransom note demands $6 million in Bitcoin by 5pm MST on Monday.

While Savannah agreed to pay the ransom in exchange for her mother’s safe return, she asked the public for their help to find her on Monday.

‘We are at an hour of desperation, and we need your help,’ she said.

Savannah Guthrie asks for help in ‘hour of desperation’

Savannah Guthrie asked the nation for help in finding her missing mother as her family is in an ‘hour of desperation.’

‘We need your help. Law enforcement is working tirelessly around the clock to bring her home, trying to find her. She was taken, and we don’t know where,’ she said.

‘I’m coming on, just ask you not just for your prayers but, no matter where you are, even if you’re far from Tucson, if you see anything, if you hear anything, if there is anything at all that seems strange to you, that you report to law enforcement.’

She concluded, ‘We are at an hour of desperation, and we need your help.’

Still no suspects, persons of interest identified

The Pima County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday night it still has not identified any suspects or persons of interests in Nancy Guthrie’s kidnapping.

‘Investigators have not identified any suspects, persons of interest, or vehicles connected to Nancy Guthrie,’ the sheriff’s department posted on X.

‘Anyone who believes they have information that may assist investigators is asked to contact 1-800-CALL-FBI or the PCSD non-emergency line at 520-351-4900, or 88-CRIME.’

Nancy Guthrie investigation takes dramatic new focus as clock runs out on ransom deadline

As the Monday deadline for payment of the ransom demanded for the return of Nancy Guthrie passes without proof of life, or consequence, the family and investigators must face the cruel reality that this entire line of enquiry has been a hoax.

Second ransom deadline passes

It is now past 5pm in Tucson, Arizona – the second deadline for ransom money in Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance.

Authorities have confirmed that no payments have been made.

Savannah Guthrie’s saddest video plea yet

Savannah Guthrie said she believes her mother, Nancy, is still alive and asked the nation for help in her ‘hour of desperation.’

‘We believe that somehow, someway she is feeling these prayers and that God is lifting her even in this moment,’ she said.

‘We believe our mom is still out there.’

She then asked her 1.6 million followers to help with the search by reporting anything they think might be suspicious.

All the evidence in the Nancy Guthrie case

The Daily Mail takes a look at the key evidence in the investigation into Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance as cops admit they have found no suspects as the search enters its second week.

Ransom money not yet received, TMZ reveals

The digital wallet Nancy Guthrie’s alleged kidnappers set up remained empty up to an hour before the deadline, TMZ reports.

It was one of the outlets that received the original ransom note, which Harvey Levin said Monday night stated that the kidnappers would return the 84-year-old to Tucson, Arizona within 12 hours of receiving the ransom money.

Savannah has previously said the family is ready to pay.

Blood splatter on Nancy Guthrie’s porch match her DNA

Sheriff Chris Nanos confirmed that the blood found on the porch at Nancy’s home belongs to her.

‘I think you all know the blood on the porch,’ he told reporters on Thursday.

‘It came back to Nancy, that’s what we know. But there’s still more items that have been submitted.’

Billboards requesting information coming to nearby cities

The FBI has announced it will put up billboards requesting information in Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance in several Texas cities and other nearby municipalities.

The digital billboards will feature Nancy’s photo, information and a phone number to call with any tips.

They will be posted in El Paso, Texas; San Antonio, Texas; Houston, Texas and Dallas, Texas; as well as in Albuquerque, New Mexico; San Diego, California and Los Angeles, California, ABC 11 reports.

Former FBI official declares it is ‘a new era of kidnap and ransom’

Former FBI Assistant Director Frank Figliuzzi declared on CNN that ‘We’re seeing a new era of kidnap and ransom.

‘It has to do with things like Bitcoin, with anonymized emails, with a demand that can fill a digital wallet – all of that incredibly difficult to trace,’ he said Monday night.

‘It puts the bad guy in charge – and that’s a new thing for law enforcement in crisis negotiations.’

Experts analyze Savannah’s latest plea

Experts who analyzed Savannah’s latest plea have offered differing opinions on what it may signify.

CNN Senior Law Enforcement Analyst Andrew McCabe suggested it means that the Guthrie family has not yet received a response to their previous videos directly addressing the possible captors.

‘This message does not sound like the message that you would expect to hear from a family that is currently negotiating the return of their loved one,’ he told the outlet, as authorities work to determine the veracity of the ransom demands.

In the meantime, CNN’s Chief Law Enforcement and Intelligence Analyst John Miller suggested Savannah may be trying to rally people across the nation to continue searching for her.

‘What she’s really saying is “We need everybody in the game here,”‘ he said. ‘”We don’t want everybody to stop looking.”‘
