Meghan Markle has reacted to Taylor Swift’s announcement that she is engaged to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce – as the news seemingly overshadowed the Duchess of Sussex’s latest As Ever launch and Netflix premiere.

On Tuesday, Swift dropped the news that Kelce proposed recently with engagement pictures of the pair in a beautiful floral garden, as she showed off her massive ring to the world.

The announcement coincided with the release of the second season of With Love, Meghan, on Netflix, and another product drop on the Duchess’s lifestyle website.

However, there doesn’t seem to be any ‘bad blood’ between the two women, as Meghan was quick to ‘like’ Swift’s engagement announcement on Instagram.

‘Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,’ Swift captioned the set of photos, which showed Kelce down on his knees in what looked to be an enchanted garden full of pink, white, and red flowers.

Swift wore a $400 striped silk-blend dress by Ralph Lauren for the photos, which featured a ruched top and halter neckline.

The full skirt came right above her ankles, as she paired the look with a pair of brown heeled sandals.

The dress is from this season’s collection, and is still available for purchase on Ralph Lauren’s website and other retailers like Neiman Marcus.

For his part, Kelce appeared to match his soon-to-be wife in a $138 short-sleeve, navy-blue cable knit polo shirt, which was also by designer Ralph Lauren.

Kelce paired his look with khaki shorts and a pair of brown suede loafers.

The newly-engaged couple went public with their relationship in September 2023 when the singer appeared alongside Travis’s mother, Donna, at a Kansas Chiefs game.

Since then, their romance has captivated the world, with Swift supporting Kelce’s run to two Super Bowls while the NFL star has traveled alongside her around the globe on her wildly successful Eras tour.

Meghan herself even attended the singer’s Eras Tour when she stopped in Los Angeles in 2023.

Of course, when Swift stopped at Wembley Stadium in London last June, she also met Meghan and Prince Harry’s estranged family member Prince William.

Prince William brought his two children, Prince George, 12, and Princess Charlotte, 10, to the concert, where they met both Swift and Kelce backstage.

Swift posed for an adorable selfie with the royal family in London at the time, as they were all smiles.

On the premiere of Meghan’s second Netflix season, she tried to share glimpses into her everyday life and favorite recipes.

The Netflix show, which is streaming from today, was filmed last year in a rented home in Montecito, close to the Sussex’s own mansion.

The Duchess is seen baking several times throughout the show, preparing sourdough for her friend Chrissy Teigen and using ready-made puff pastry to create McDonald’s apple pies with Tan France.

In another scene, France asks what Meghan just put on her French toast, to which the Duchess replies: ‘Flower sprinkles. I love them.’

France hesitates and then remarks: ‘Wow. That’s the gayest s*** I’ve seen in a long time.’

The first series pulled in 5.3 million views, in the top 5 per cent of Netflix shows for the first half of 2025.

She and Harry signed a five-year contract reported to be worth $100million with Netflix but that has now been replaced by a first-look deal which gives the streaming giant first refusal on any shows they create.

Swift’s engagement announcement comes just weeks after Swift appeared on Kelce’s podcast, New Heights, for the first time, to announce her 12th studio album, Life of a Showgirl.

During the show, the two also shared a bit of insight into their loving relationship.

She recalled how Kelce went about getting to know her better in a way that was ‘very natural, very pure, very normal.’

The Grammy winner praised Kelce for ‘the way he could make me laugh so immediately about normal things. He’s just a vibe booster in everyone’s life that he’s in. He’s a human exclamation point.’

She also gushed about the athlete being ‘so non-judgmental about people’ adding that he didn’t mind that she lacked knowledge about football when they met.
