Meghan Markle mocked over bizarre word salads in latest TV interview

Meghan Markle mocked over bizarre word salads in latest TV interview,

Viewers have mocked the bizarre word salads Meghan Markle used during an interview.

The Duchess of Sussex made the eyebrow raising comments during an appearance on Bloomberg’s The Circuit which coincided with the launch of the second season of With Love, Meghan.

Here, Meghan spoke to interviewer Emily Chang about American politics, growing up in LA and the launch of her lifestyle brand As Ever.

However, many viewers were less interested in Meghan’s answers and more in her unusual use of the English language which produced multiple word salads.

Highlights from the conversation include when the Duchess described bookstores as a place ‘you can find your story there. You can find some version of your story or what feels true to you in it.’

And then when asked by Chang about ‘how important it is to own your own story?’ Meghan responded: ‘I know I do. And if you know me, you know that I do. I think there are always going to be moments where you feel as though a story is being told about some caricature of you that actually has nothing to do with you.’

She continued: ‘And I, and I just think there really is a lot of value to when you anchor into your own knowing, then you’re telling your own story. You’re telling your own story and how you show up in the world, what you do. You actually don’t need to say anything. You can show who you are.’

Unsurprisingly, baffled viewers were quick to take to social media to mock the interview.

On YouTube, one user said: ‘She speaks English, but I don’t understand what she is saying. It’s all word salad.’

Another quipped: ‘Hopefully, the reporter’s coffee is strong enough to tolerate Meghan Markle’s word salad.’

Taking to Reddit, one person with the username Princess Pixie questioned what Meghan even meant when she claimed to be ‘anchored into your own knowing’.

Another wrote: ‘Why do people invite her to speak? It’s the same thing over and over. Word salad on repeat.’

Darina, writing on X – formerly Twitter – said: ‘I’m just so sick of Meghan Markle. Everything she says is bulls***, no matter how she dresses it up with her ridiculous word salad.’

Supporters of the Duchess also took to social media to praise her answers.

Khemani commented on YouTube: ‘She’s so smart and well-spoken. Such a breath of fresh air.’

Another said: ‘I enjoyed Meghan’s interview. Meghan is very inspiring, authentic, intelligent, beautiful, caring and courageous. Awesome interview.’

During the interview, the Duchess also appeared to take a dig at her former life in the royal fold.

While speaking to Chang over smashed burgers and pints of beer, Meghan is asked if there is an ‘inherent tension’ between ‘trying to be relatable’ while also being a Duchess.

Meghan, 44, responded that she is ‘just being herself’.

‘It was different several years ago where I couldn’t be as vocal and I had to wear nude pantyhose all the time!’ the Duchess said, adding it ‘felt a little bit inauthentic’.

Meghan has already touched on things she had to sacrifice in order to be a royal, such as her lifestyle blog The Tig, which she ditched in April 2017, a few months before her engagement to Harry.

She linked the decision to the immense changes that came with joining the institution.

When relaunching her lifestyle brand As Ever in February, Meghan said: ‘As Ever essentially means as it’s always been, and if you’ve followed me since 2014 with The Tig, you know I’ve always loved cooking and crafting and gardening – this is what I do.

‘And I haven’t been able to share it with you in the same way for the past few years, but now I can so, as things are starting to trickle out there, I wanted you to hear it from me first.’

When Chang quizzed Meghan about her current political stance later on in the episode, the Duchess appeared to dodge the question – admitting she hadn’t spoken about it since 2016, before she met Prince Harry.

Emily referenced Meghan’s appearance on Larry Wilmore’s The Nightly Show in 2016, in which she branded Donald Trump ‘misogynistic’ and ‘divisive’, especially with female voters.

Speaking about the video, Emily asked if there was anything Meghan was ‘dying to say right now, but you feel like you can’t’ – appearing to ask her current views on US politics.

But Meghan simply responded ‘no’, before appearing to change the subject: ‘I just make a choice of what matters to me and what’s important to me. And that was a different time in 2016.’

The interview coincided with the launch of the second season of With Love, Meghan yesterday.

The eight-part series, which launched on features celebrity guests including Chrissy Teigen, John Legend and television personality Tan France who join Meghan to cook, bake and make home goods.
