All the hidden details in Prince Archie’s 7th birthday photo,
Meghan Markle gave fans an intimate glimpse inside her and Prince Harry’s bedroom at Frogmore Cottage in their son Prince Archie’s birthday Instagram post.
The Duchess of Sussex, 44, marked Archie’s seventh birthday with two unseen snaps, including a rare baby photo of the young royal taken during their time living in Frogmore Cottage.
Harry, 41, and Meghan moved into the four-bedroom property in Windsor shortly before Archie was born on May 6, 2019.
Meghan’s photograph showed the then-newborn sleeping peacefully on Harry’s chest, as the prince gazed fondly at his son.
However, the picture also gave fans clues about the Sussexes’ UK home, before they relocated to Montecito, California.
From a poignant portrait of the late Princess of Wales to Archie’s cashmere baby blanket, these are all the hidden details in the adorable snap:
All the details in Prince Archie’s seventh birthday photo: 1. Princess Diana’s portrait 2. Artwork 3. A large houseplant 4. Lamp 5. Archie’s baby blanket 6. Gilded mirror 7. Wall sconces
1. A portrait of Princess Diana
A closer look at the photograph reveals that a framed photograph of Princess Diana is carefully placed on Prince Harry’s dresser.
2. Artwork by Inslee Fariss
When she moved from Canada to the UK, ahead of her wedding to Prince Harry, Meghan also brought one of her favourite paintings with her.
Hanging on the walls of the bedroom of Frogmore Cottage is a painting by American modern artist Inslee Fariss that previously decorated the guest bedroom at her home in Toronto, where she filmed Suits.
The watercolour is titled ‘Babe No. 5’ and is part of Inslee’s figure study series depicting the female form.
The North Carolina-based artist previously revealed she completed Meghan’s painting ‘a couple of years ago’ before the actress met and fell in love with Prince Harry.
A photo on her Instagram showed Inslee looking at the finished figure study and the caption read: ‘This was taken a couple of years ago when I had no idea: who she was, that she would buy this piece, that she would meet Prince Harry and fall in love, that countless kind strangers from around the world and every person I’ve ever met would later forward me articles about how she had it displayed in her guest bedroom.
‘Isn’t it funny how life turns out?’
Meghan purchased the painting for £520, according to Hello! magazine.
3. A large houseplant
The photo of Prince Archie resting on his father’s chest also showed Meghan decorated their bedroom with a large houseplant.
It is believed to be a Fiddle leaf fig plant, which has glossy green leaves and can retail for up to £300.
Meghan is clearly a fan of the influencer-approved indoor plant; the Duchess also has a fiddle-leaf fig tree at her and Prince Harry’s $14million mansion in Montecito, California.
4. An off-white lamp shade
Like Meghan’s abode in Toronto, the bedroom inside Frogmore Cottage appears to lean heavily towards neutral colours with off-white walls that match the lamp on Harry’s bedside table.
In 2017, Meghan gave her Instagram followers a tour of the chic apartment she called home before moving to London.
The photos revealed her love of elegant yet cosy decor, fresh flowers and an all-white colour palette as she showed off a marble dining table, plush couch, and soft furnishings in the same hue.
5. Luxe baby blanket
The photo showed Prince Archie swaddled in a luxe cashmere blanket with lace trim as the young royal enjoyed his nap.
The £250 blanket is believed to be from royal-approved brand Trotters.
6 and 7. Decor details
Finally, Archie’s birthday snap revealed Harry and Meghan’s bedroom wall was also decorated with a gilded mirror.
Other details include brass wall sconces on either side of the mirror.
Prince Archie seen with his younger sister Lilibet, four, in a second birthday snap shared by Meghan
In addition to the baby photo, Meghan also shared a snap of Archie on a beach with his little sister Princess Lilibet on Instagram.
Archie celebrated his seventh birthday more than 5,000 miles away from the Royal Family, who have only met the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son a handful of times.
When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made the unprecedented decision to give up their royal roles in 2020, it was unknown what the future would look like for their son Archie, who at that time did not hold a title.
Yet, according to royal biographer Omid Scobie, it was actually Archie who gave the Duke and Duchess of Sussex the courage to leave the Royal Family in the first place.
The young royal, then only eight months old, motivated his parents ‘to stand up for what was right for them, regardless of what the consequences,’ he claimed.
Mr Scobie previously told People that both Harry and Meghan had been ‘quite afraid of the consequences of stepping away and challenging the system’.
‘As we have seen, those consequences have been pretty major,’ he added.
King Charles has reportedly only met his grandson a few times, and the Sussexes’ four-year-old daughter, Princess Lilibet, only once in 2022.
Meanwhile, the late Queen Elizabeth was also said to have been ‘heartbroken’ that she would not get to see Archie grow up – after Harry and Meghan relocated to Montecito, California.
