Marc Guehi ‘prepared to see out Palace deal’ amid Liverpool interest

  • Liverpool, Tottenham and Newcastle are all keen on Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi
  • Centre back Guehi, 24, is under contract at Selhurst Park until June 30 next year
  • LISTEN to Whistleblowers: Are Arsenal fans right to think they’ve been aggrieved by the fixtures?

Marc Guehi is said to be willing to bide his time at Crystal Palace despite widespread interest in his signature from elsewhere.

Guehi was courted by Newcastle United last summer but Palace rejected an offer worth around £50million, before Tottenham Hotspur failed with a bid in January.

Both Newcastle and Spurs remain keen on the 24-year-old centre back, while Liverpool are also now listed among his admirers.

But according to The Guardian, Guehi is prepared to see out his Palace contract, which is due to expire at the end of June 2026.

That might not suit the decision makers at Selhurst Park, though, as it would likely mean losing their star man on a free transfer.

Guehi — who has been capped 23 times by England and is expected to play a crucial role at next year’s World Cup — featured in 35 of Palace’s 38 Premier League matches last season.

The former Chelsea academy star also played in all six of Palace’s games in their triumphant FA Cup campaign, including the 1-0 win over Manchester City in the final.

Liverpool’s interest may intensify following the expected departure of Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen.

But Guehi is among several defenders being monitored by the Reds.

Meanwhile, Tottenham’s need for a new centre back could hinge on whether Cristian Romero stays or leaves this summer.

It is no secret that the Argentina star is wanted by Atletico Madrid.
