Man City’s new strip labelled the ‘world’s s******* kit’ by OWN fans

We are on the cusp of the new Premier League season starting, but already Manchester City have angered their supporters with one decision.

City kick-off their 2025-26 campaign away at Wolves on Saturday and will likely be wearing their new blue home strip for that Molineux encounter.

However, while their home and away kits – the latter being an all black ensemble – have gone down well among their supporters, City’s third strip has not.

The Etihad outfit unveiled their third kit, with the authentic jersey costing £130 and replica £85, which sees an unusual blend of predominately grey offset by an electric green.

A closer look though has revealed the true disappointment among the City faithful though with a raindrop pattern etched on the kit – which is meant to reflect the typical rainy weather in Manchester.

The PUMA design is ‘inspired by the famous Mancunian weather’ and is ‘designed for those who carry City in their hearts, rain or shine’, state the club’s website.

However, it is unlikely City supporter will be singing in the rain with this shirt – judging by the backlash on social media.

‘That design is a disgrace to City, our eyes, the society, to raindrops, to our intellectual level, and humanity in general,’ wrote one fan damningly on X.

‘World’s s******* kit goes to us,’ wrote another user, while a succinct ‘It’s f****** dreadful lads,’ came another reply.

One City fan went as far to predict how they would fare in the third strip this season, writing: ‘I can’t imagine us winning in this kit I can’t lie, all I can see is 3-3 draws against s*** Dutch sides at home.’

It is unclear, if Savinho will be afforded the chance to wear the City third strip, with Tottenham still a suitor of the Brazilian winger.

As detailed by Daily Mail Sport, Spurs are set to further test City’s resolve over Savinho in a bid to bolster Thomas Frank’s attacking armoury.

City knocked back an enquiry for the Brazil international, revealed earlier in the week, and are thought to only be entertaining offers of more than £50million.

City are demanding £50m for the 21-year-old Brazil international, whom they signed for £31m

Spurs will go again for Savinho, who cost £31m from Troyes this time last year and made 48 appearances during his debut season under Pep Guardiola.

City possess Phil Foden and Oscar Bobb as competition on the right wing – with Rayan Cherki capable of operating out there too.

But Savinho was noticeably given the nod for City’s two biggest matches at the Club World Cup, the victory over Juventus and defeat by Al Hilal.

The 21-year-old is, however, uncertain over his future role at the Etihad Stadium and Tottenham are looking to pounce.
