Loose Women star’s husband elected as London councillor

Loose Women star Nadia Sawalha’s husband Mark Adderley has been elected as a London councillor despite being suspended from the Green Party over his ‘anti-Semitic rants’ on social media.

Adderley secured a seat in Crystal Palace & Upper Norwood in Croydon, south London, which has been left with no overall majority.

He is one of eight candidates elected to the council under the Green Party, which made waves elsewhere in the capital with its first-ever elected mayors in Hackney and Lewisham, while seizing control of Waltham Forest and Hackney Council.

However, due to his suspension Mr Adderley will not be sitting as a Green councillor and will have to sit as an independent.

The election of Mr Adderley, 55, has raised eyebrows among anti-Semitism advocates, who point to a raft of videos he has shared on his YouTube channel comparing Israel to Nazi Germany and blaming Mossad for carrying out terror attacks.

He is often flanked in the ‘Coffee Moaning’ videos by his wife, broadcaster Nadia Sawalha, who has been dropped from ITV hit show Loose Women over the ‘dangerous’ posts.

Several refer to ‘Israeli false flag’ operations being behind the assassination of US political figure Charlie Kirk and a missile attack on a British base in Cyprus.

In one video uploaded in March, Mr Adderley said: ‘There’s a word which is Lebensraum, which is “living room”, and that’s exactly what [Adolf] Hitler wanted in all the countries around him.

‘The weirdest thing about the maps of history, when you look at how Hitler expanded Germany, or sought to expand Germany, it’s almost a complete identikit to what [Israeli prime minister, Binyamin] Netanyahu, is doing in the Middle East.’

He added: ‘Israel is the biggest threat to the sovereignty of every nation on this planet because they are “the chosen people”. Deluded. It’s a cult, it’s just a cult.’

In the same video, seen by The Times and which has since been deleted, he speculated on the killing of Kirk.

‘I am telling you now, Charlie Kirk was not shot by this guy [the suspect Tyler Robinson]. He was taken out. It’s the deep state, [Israel’s] Mossad intelligence, CIA,’ he said. ‘It’s the same f****** thing — CIA, Mossad, everything is hermetically sealed.’

In another video, made in March after a kamikaze drone – believed to have been fired by Hezbollah militants in Lebanon – struck a British base in Cyprus, Adderley questioned whether it was an ‘Israeli false flag?’

He said: ‘The Western Zionist-supporting, Israeli-complicit media and governments are all going to say, “Well, it must have come from Hezbollah,” he added.

EXCLUSIVE Loose Women star Nadia Sawalha dropped from ITV show ‘to give her some space’ after she was accused of sharing ‘anti-Semitic conspiracy theories’ on social media

Mr Adderley also unleashed on Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood, calling her a ‘puppet of the Zionist state’ after she announced the Government would appeal a ruling that the proscription of Palestine Action was unlawful.

He said: ‘You’re an absolutely f****** shameful politician,’ Mr Adderley said. ‘You could seek to soften your right-wing, fascistic-sympathising, Zionist-f****** cosying up.’

Mr Adderley’s election comes just a day after the Daily Mail exclusively reported Ms Sawalha, 61, had been dropped from Loose Women, with a source claiming that while bosses are fond of her both parties ‘are having some space’ before they discuss any return.

In one of her most recent videos, made after learning her husband had been suspended from the Green Party, she blamed ‘dark forces behind everything that you see’ and claimed her husband had been ‘slandered’ and unfairly punished.

An insider said of the break: ‘People both on and off camera at ITV have complained to bosses about the nature of the YouTube channel, which has become increasingly conspiratorial and looks like anti-Semitism, disguised as anti-Israel rhetoric.

‘A number of colleagues fear Nadia has brought this upon herself through her dangerous posting and there is growing concern for her mental health.’

Ms Sawalha, who was one of the original lineup when the show launched in 1999, was last on Loose Women at the end of April. She usually appears on the woman-only panel at least once a week.

She has steadfastly campaigned for her husband since before and after his suspension and spoke of her pride following his election.

Posting a video on Saturday night she said they were ‘chuffed’ that there are now several Green councillors ‘swarming’ around her local area, with voters choosing ‘hope instead of hate’.

She added: ‘I’m so thrilled for the Greens and I’m so thankful to everyone who voted for Mark and knows what a damn fine man he is.’

But former Labour MP Lord Walney was not as welcoming of Mr Adderley’s election as a London councillor.

The government political extremism adviser told Daily Mail: ‘This man’s election crystallises the over-privileged, Israel obsessed crank-fest the Green Party has become as it welcomes in the activists who almost sank the Labour Party when Jeremy Corbyn was leader.

‘Charlatan leader Zack Polanski couldn’t disown the cesspit he has created with any more sincerity than his claims to be able to enlarge women’s breasts through hypnosis.’

The Green Party has previously told Daily Mail Mr Adderley’s videos do not represent the views of the party.
