Lily Collins had a tearful reaction when meeting her idol Victoria Beckham for the first time.
The Emily In Paris star, 36, got the surprise of a lifetime on Tuesday’s Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon when he brought out the Spice Girls icon, 51, she’d always dreamed of meeting.
Collins teared up as Beckham sat beside her, admitting she copied the singer’s iconic bob haircut.
The segment started out with Fallon asking Collins if she was still in her Posh era, to which she replied, ‘I hope I never leave my Posh era.’
He then pulled up a side-by-side photo of Collins and Beckham striking similar poses, prompting the actress to joke that Posh will ‘always do it better’.
Fallon then shocked Collins as he brought Beckham out, after the star said she’d never met her.
The ladies recreated the pose from the photos, both striking a peace sign, before sharing a hug.
Beckham then complimented Collins on her hairstyle, saying hers was ‘a lot shinier’.
‘No, no, no,’ Collins replied, adding, ‘Well, thank you, but no, I could never out-shine, no.’
Fallon then asked Beckham how she got her famous nickname Posh.
‘I’ve always wanted to know that too,’ Collins quipped.
‘Well I was given that nickname because I used to like nice clothes and nice restaurants,’ Beckham replied.
‘In actual fact, it really helped me out because in the Spice Girls, the other girls didn’t like designer clothes. So when we would do videos or go on stage, they were happy to just wear all the free stuff and I got all the budget.’
‘I like how you think,’ Collins said, clearly impressed.
The two then watched a clip from the new season of Emily In Paris.
Collins looked chic as ever in a black dress with sheer panels throughout.
Meanwhile Beckham wowed in a grey silk dress and strappy black heels.
Elsewhere on the show Collins talked about her 10-month-old daughter.
She revealed that her famous father Phil Collins, 74, entertains the baby by playing her some of his iconic tunes like In the Air Tonight.
Collins shares her daughter with husband Charlie McDowell.
Emily In Paris released a first look at its fifth season this week, with producers also teasing a possible exit by a major character.
The clip shows Lily’s alter ego Emily as she adjusts to her new life in Rome with Eugenio Franceschini’s character Marcello.
Elsewhere, with Emily struggling to settle in, Gabriel appears as the pair have a heart-to-heart.
The character, played by Lucas Bravo, tells her he’s excited by the future, and she should be too.
He’s then seen boarding a train – with it not clear if he’s exploring Rome or returning to Paris.
It further fuels speculation that Gabriel is being written out of the show following his split from Emily, after his absence from the initial trailer caused alarm amongst fans.
A synopsis for season five released by Netflix reads: ‘Now the head of Agence Grateau Rome, Emily faces professional and romantic challenges as she adapts to life in a new city.
‘But just as everything falls into place, a work idea backfires, and the fallout cascades into heartbreak and career setbacks. Seeking stability, Emily leans into her French lifestyle, until a big secret threatens one of her closest relationships.
‘Tackling conflict with honesty, Emily emerges with deeper connections, renewed clarity, and a readiness to embrace new possibilities.’
Emily In Paris lands on Netflix on December 18.
