Kelsey Grammer has revealed he recently welcomed his eighth child, a son named Christopher, with his fourth wife Kayte Walsh.
The 70-year-old Frasier star announced his baby news while appearing on Monday’s episode of Pod Meets World.
‘Just had our fourth one, so it just became eight kids!’ Kelsey gushed.
‘It was like three days ago. Christopher that’s just joined the family.’
It’s been four months since the Daily Mail confirmed Kelsey and Kayte, 46, were expecting, with a source saying the pregnancy ‘reignited’ the spark between them.
‘Kelsey is thrilled to finally have time to fully enjoy being a father all over again,’ a source told the Daily Mail.
‘This will be their fourth child together, and with Kelsey’s other children from his past marriages, their new bundle of joy will have so much love.’
‘After giving Frasier one last go, he has hung his hat up on that character and is ready for the next phase of his life. He is looking forward to embracing the hands-on parenting he missed in the past.’
The couple, who have been married for 14 years, share three older children together – daughter Faith, 13; as well as sons Kelsey Gabriel, 11; and Auden James, eight.
Kelsey originally met the British blonde in 2009 while she was working as a flight attendant on his London flight.
Grammer first became a father in 1983 when he welcomed 42-year-old daughter Spencer during his two-year marriage to first ex-wife Doreen Alderman, which ended in 1990.
The six-time Emmy winner then welcomed daughter Kandace Greer, 33, with retired hair/make-up artist Barrie Buckner, whom he reportedly dated between 1991 and 1992.
Kelsey welcomed two more children – daughter Mason, 24; and son Jude, 21 – during his 13-year marriage to third ex-wife Camille Meyer, which ended in 2011.
Last year, Grammer acted opposite his daughter Greer during season two of his Paramount+ sitcom revival, Frasier.
In 2022, the Virgin Islands-born, Florida-raised grandfather co-starred with his daughter Spencer in Lifetime movie, The 12 Days of Christmas Eve.
‘Kayte and I were talking about how it’s really something that a child would follow in their father’s footsteps,’ Kelsey said in his Variety cover story last year.
‘To think that all my kids, at least the ones that have a hand in the air, are ready to take responsibility for their lives, are all drawn to this industry. And she said, “That’s something to be proud of.” It’s something I’ve never told them. I’m hoping they’re going to read [my upcoming memoir] and realize, “Oh, so Dad’s okay with this.”
‘Because I never wanted to push myself on them. I never wanted to force them into the industry or intrude too much into their process. Because it’s a bit of a mixed blessing to have my last name. People take it out on you. You get some attention maybe because of it. And there’s a split as to whether or not it’s good or bad.’
Grammer said he’s happiest when all of his children are ‘all in the same room together’.
‘My work has allowed me to be able to do that,’ the Karen: A Brother Remembers author gushed.
‘I’ve been given this great experience. It’s been painful and challenging and hard and tragic — all those things. But boy, it’s a great life. And I want to pass that on to them.’
