Kelly Osbourne shares message after her beloved dad Ozzy’s death

Kelly Osbourne shared a heartbreaking message with fans on Instagram on Monday as she thanked them for their support following her dad Ozzy’s death on July 22.

She said she was going through the ‘hardest moment of her life’ and admitted she will ‘not be OK for a while’ in her emotive message.

Kelly, 40, wrote: ‘I’ve sat down to write this a hundred times and still don’t know if the words will ever feel like enough.. but from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

‘The love, support, and beautiful messages I’ve received from so many of you have truly helped carry me through the hardest moment of my life. Every kind word, every shared memory, every bit of compassion has meant more than I can ever explain.

‘Grief is a strange thing-it sneaks up on you in waves – I will not be ok for a while-but knowing my family are not alone in our pain makes a difference. I’m holding on tight to the love, the light, and the legacy left behind.

‘Thank you for being there. I love you all so much. Kelly #BirminghamForever #OzzyForever.’

Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy passed away on July 22 at age 76, and was laid to rest this week on the grounds of his mansion in England.

Ozzy and his wife, Sharon Osbourne, bought the 250-acre estate, known as Welders House in 1993. According to the insider, it was a place they often ‘escaped’ to when they needed a break from fame during the height of his career.

‘[The mansion] had been where he and Sharon escaped from the showbiz world in the 1990s and 2000s to simply focus on family,’ they explained.

‘Once again it showed how despite all the amazing rock and roll success and celebrity he had, in his heart he was always a family man.’

The Daily Mail has reached out to the Osbourne family for comment.

Ozzy announced that he planned moved back to Welders House permanently in 2022 after years of spending most of his time living in Los Angeles.

At the time, he had the home revamped, adding bat boxes, as well as a ‘rehabilitation wing’ following his Parkinson’s disease diagnosis in 2020.

Planning documents for a health and welfare exercise suite, a swimming pool, and decking were submitted to the local council in March that year.

But his battle with Parkinson’s and a crippling fall that exacerbated his old quad bike injury are thought to have delayed his return to the UK.

Kelly spoke about how well Ozzy was doing in a poignant last interview just two weeks before he died.

Just two days before she got engaged to Sid Wilson at Ozzy’s final performance with his band in Villa Park, Birmingham, Kelly said her father was feeling ‘amazing’.

She said: ‘My dad is amazing! He’s so excited for his final show on Saturday. There is all the nerves and all the excitement.

‘He’s sailing through everything, and the rehearsals have been incredible. It’s all about him. It’s going to be a very emotional moment.’

Before getting engaged in front of her father’s eyes, Kelly also shared details of her nuptials, with plans to wed across seas to ensure an intimate affair – words that are bittersweet now Ozzy won’t be there to walk her down the aisle.

She said: ‘We were thinking about having a destination wedding because that way only the people who really like you will come. So that is where we are going right now.’

Kelly revealed that her famed mother Sharon will be planning her entire wedding as she confessed she ‘wants nothing to do with it’.

She said: ‘I want nothing to do with it, because if it was up to me, we’d get married at the registry office and then take over a pub.

‘But it is not up to me, so I’m letting my mum plan it.’

The heavy metal icon was commemorated in a parade through the city centre – with friends and family including his wife Sharon attending and getting out of the cortege at Black Sabbath Bridge.

Ozzy had made known Kelly is his ‘favourite child’ in the past, previously telling Rolling Stone they were ‘like two peas in a pod’ as he gushed over their bond.

Mother-of-one Kelly covered her tears with the glasses which were a familiar look for Ozzy.

She and siblings Jack and Aimee laid floral tributes at the site while supporting Sharon – and they also shared peace signs showing gratitude to the crowds, while accompanied by Ozzy’s son Louis from his first marriage to Thelma Riley.

And Jack and Kelly were seen sharing an emotional embrace at the Black Sabbath Bridge site that has been wreathed in floral tributes over the past week.

Father-of-five Ozzy previously proudly shared how singer, actress and fashion designer Kelly was his most cherished child, telling an interviewer: ‘If I’ve got a favourite kid, it’s Kelly.’

When asked by Rolling Stone, ‘Are Jack and Aimee aware of that?’, he replied: ‘Oh, they know it! Me and Kelly, we’re like two peas in a pod!’

The father-daughter duo rereleased a revised version of the song in 2003 which reached number one on the UK singles chart – in it they reflected on their life together.
