A youthful-looking news anchor in Houston left viewers and followers shocked when he announced he had become a grandfather.
Keith Garvin, who has worked in broadcast television for over 30 years, posted to social media on Tuesday about the newest addition to his family, his grandson, Ezra Keith.
Garvin’s heartwarming announcement featured photos of himself and the baby boy, leaving his followers to question his age and compliment his timeless appearance.
Despite looking like he is in his 30s, the news anchor is turning 56 this August.
‘It feels absolutely amazing to be a grandfather! Life really changed the moment I held him for the first time,’ Garvin told KPRC.
The news anchor, who is a father of four daughters, added that he and his wife, Lisa, had children when they were young so they could be active grandparents.
‘We are absolutely in love with this little baby boy & thanking God for this beautiful blessing,’ the grandfather wrote.
‘It feels like our lives & world have been re-centered, and we love it.’

Garvin told the outlet that he noticed how many in the comments were in disbelief but noted that it’s a reaction he gets quite often.
‘I laugh every time I hear that,’ he said, while adding that he still has his days when he feels his age.
Garvin replied to some of the commentators who were seriously doubting his grandfather status.
One user wrote, ‘No way you’re old enough to be a grandpa,’ to which he replied, ‘I definitely feel old…but still pretty spry!’
Another added, ‘There is absolutely no way you are old enough to be a grandfather, but congrats anyway,’ prompting Garvin to answer, ‘It’s true! Thank you!’
Dozens of others also congratulated and complimented the news anchor.
Garvin told KPRC that he wants to always be there for his grandson, who is named after him, and to play a role rooted in faith.
