Nothing says Christmas quite like a red dress.

For festive soirées, Needle & Thread’s Aurora ballerina dress – famously worn by the Princess of Wales – takes top spot on my list.

And for daytime events? Kate’s Alessandra Rich polka dot number is a constant source of inspiration.

The Princess rewore the elegant dress to the Royal Family’s annual Christmas lunch, having showcased it on A Berry Royal Christmas television programme in 2019.

Before debuting the design, Kate had it altered to align with royal protocol, removing the revealing keyhole neckline and replacing it with a wide bow.

She accessorised with striking Van Cleef & Arpels pearl clover earrings, elevating the festive look to new heights.

Although the original design has now sold out, recreating the look couldn’t be easier. Explore my favourite alternatives below.
