Kamala Harris SNL skit mirrored Trump’s from nine years earlier

Angry viewers noticed how Kamala Harris’ SNL skit appeared to be eerily similar to one in which Donald Trump took part in while campaigning for president in 2015.

Harris could be seen talking to herself as she made a surprise appearance on Saturday night as she sat in front of a mirror, speaking with actress Maya Rudolph who was portraying the Democratic presidential candidate.

But viewers were quick to note how the sketch was strikingly similar to one performed nine years earlier by Trump.

Viewers were quick to note how the sketch was strikingly similar to one performed nine years earlier by Trump.

Just as in Harris’ cold open, Trump was also seen talking to himself through the mirror, and asking for himself for advice.

In the 2015 version the cold open was seen as Trump was about to make an appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, also hosted by NBC – the same network that hosts Saturday Night Live.

There were plenty on social media who felt they had seen the act somewhere else before.

Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green was quick to tweet a message in all upper case letters as she wanted to draw attention to the fact that the comedy sketch reeked of desperation.

Many viewers, including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene were to point out the similarities between the two sketches some nine years apart

‘HOLY SH*T Kamala Harris COPIED President Trump’s appearance on SNL. Can you believe it ? THIS IS WHAT DESPERATION LOOKS LIKE,’ Green wrote.

Others on X also noted how the sketch, while different in its content, appear similar in its content and followed a familiar path.

‘I would like to remind anyone on the left calling Kamala Harris and Maya Rudolph’s mirror-themed opener on Saturday Night Live ‘brilliant’ and ‘hilarious’ that, once again, Donald Trump did it first,’ wrote one X user.

‘Trump is laughing at how Kamala did the same skit he already did – research matters, look it up. Same skit – SNL actor in front of him in a mirror scene,’ added another.

‘SNL has done the mirror thing several times. But with an election pending, why would her campaign let her do something directly akin to Trump’s skit? Trump’s skit was better thought out & much funnier. Seems like another example of the Harris campaign’s philosophy of Ready, Fire, Aim,’ tweeted a fourth.

Both SNL and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon are comedy shows broadcast on NBC

‘I like Donald Trump’s 2015 appearance with the same mirror doing the same skit much better. The copycat cope is laughable at this point,’ declared one.

Others blasted the Harris campaign as another example of her being fake.

‘You stole this skit from Trump! He did the president in the mirror thing YEARS before you ever did. Typical play from you and your campaign. You steal policies, you plagiarize your own books, you copy skits. You are so TOTALLY FAKE,’ they wrote.

Others appeared disappointed at the complete lack of originality.

‘I saw a clip from the ‘mirror’ skit and it was not just awful, but it was a rehash of the ‘mirror’ skit with Trump and Fallon!!! What the hell were they thinking!?’
