Family heartbroken after Amazon driver filmed STEALING friendly cat

A California family is heartbroken after an Amazon driver allegedly stole their cat while delivering a package.

An Amazon delivery driver was seen approaching Brenda Wilson’s home in Bakersfield on May 14 to drop off a package.

He stopped to pet their cat Junie who was lying outside the front door, Ring doorbell footage showed.

He then picked the cat up and walked off back toward his van.

‘Utter disbelief that anybody would have the nerve to do that. I’m just shocked,’ Brenda told KGET.

‘I kind of wish she fought back. But that’s just not really in her nature,’ the cat mom continued. ‘He kind of made a sound to her, and you can see that as he got closer, she meowed at him, and was like, stranger danger.’

Wilson’s family have had the pet since 2022 and said they have all the proof to prove the kitty is theirs.

In a Facebook update, Wilson claimed the man is her neighbor who lived down the block for a few months earlier this year with his wife.

‘Apparently, they may believe that Junie is their MALE cat,’ she wrote.

Wilson said the couple no longer live on her block and she is unsure where they reside now.

‘We just want Junie home and we won’t follow through with the charges,’ she said.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to KGET that an investigation has been launched for ‘theft of a cat.’ No arrests have been made.

Wilson was also told the driver is not directly employed by Amazon, making it hard for her to get in contact with him, she said.

The Daily Mail has contacted Wilson, Amazon, and the Kern County Sheriff’s Office for comment.

In April, a Missouri family faced the same tragedy after an Amazon driver stole their beloved cat.

The tabby cat, called Sidney, was removed by the woman as she delivered a package to Marsha Reeves’s home in Kansas City, Missouri.

Reeves, who got Sidney as a kitten, was horrified to realize her beloved cat had vanished.

Sidney was frail and in the final stages of his life, with Reeves giving him special food and medication to ensure his last days were as comfortable as possible.
