Josh Hartnett hospitalized after SUV crash with cop car in Canada

Josh Hartnett was rushed to a Canadian hospital last week after a vehicle he was riding in was hit by a police officer in St. John’s Canada.

The Pearl Harbor star, 47, had been a passenger in an SUV which a Royal Newfoundland Constabulary vehicle made contact with at around Thursday at 1 a.m. local time, the CBC reported.

The St. Paul, Minnesota-born actor, who shares three children with wife Tamsin Egerton, 36, had been returning home after production on a Netflix series that has not been assigned a title publicly.

A 59-year-old man whose name was not publicly released was driving the vehicle that the Lucky Number Slevin actor was in, the CBC reported.

A police officer ‘as a precaution’ was hospitalized, Royal Newfoundland Constabulary communications officer Cst. James Cadigan said in a report, according to the CBC.

The Daily Mail has reached out to a rep for the actor, and Egerton via Instagram, for further updates on the actor’s condition in the wake of the crash.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said that Hartnett, his driver and the officer had been seen by medical professionals for minor injuries.

Both of the vehicles involved in the incident had been ‘significantly damaged’ as result of the collision, the CBC reported.

Officials are seeking witnesses and video in connection with the incident, and urge the public to contact them with information.

The incident took place at the corner of New Cove Road and Elizabeth Avenue.

The Black Hawk Down actor is working on a show tentatively titled ‘untitled Netflix Newfoundland series’ on iMDb.

The production on the streamer also features Mackenzie Davis, Darrin Baker, Charlie Heaton, Tanchay Redvers, Joshua Close, Rohan Campbell, Ruby Stokes, Kaleb Horn, Willow Kean and Natasha Henstridge.

A logline describes the storyline: ‘When a mysterious sea creature terrorizes a remote town, a fisherman must fight to protect his family, his community, and his way of life.’

In recent years, Hartnett has appeared in multiple high-profile projects, including the TV shows The Bear and Black Mirror; and the films Oppenheimer, Trap and Fight or Flight.

The streaming service this past summer posted a cast photo featuring the actor.

The actor is three years removed from his wedding to longtime partner Tamsin Egerton, 36.

After a 10-year courtship, the pair exchanged vows in a secret ceremony at London’s Marylebone Town Hall in 2022.

A friend of the couple told The Sun that the tandem ‘wanted to make it official in a low-key affair, with their close family and friends.’
