Jessie J is targeted after sharing ‘heartbreak’ over clip of hostage

Jessie J faced online abuse after she told of her horror at footage of an Israeli hostage captured by Hamas.

The British singer described images of emaciated Evyatar David, 24, as ‘heartbreaking’ as he was forced to dig what appeared to be his own grave.

Posting to her 14 million Instagram followers, Jessie J – who was recently rushed to hospital with an infection weeks after breast cancer surgery – wrote: ‘I just cannot bear the evil in this world. Please, God, make the suffering end.’

She also included a quote from a pro-Israel activist that read: ‘I thought images of starved Jews digging their own graves would forever be confined to history books.

‘To see the past become present is a horror. Never Again. Again.’

But the 37-year-old singer’s post was quickly met with a torrent of online abuse.

One troll described the pop star as a ‘disgusting Zionist’ while another branded her a ‘terrorist and baby killer supporter’.

Another claimed she was trying to keep her ‘Zio bosses happy’. Mr David, who was abducted by Hamas during the October 7, 2023, massacre at the Nova music festival, has been held in Gaza for 668 days.

On Saturday, the terror group released videos showing him visibly emaciated along with another hostage Rom Braslavski, 22.

In the video, Mr David said: ‘I have no idea if there will be food. I haven’t eaten for several consecutive days and I’ve been in a very, very difficult state for a very long time. Already several months.’

A chart he holds up appears to log his meals in captivity, with several days marked ‘no food’.

Over the weekend, the star, whose real name is Jessica Cornish, posted on social media that she’d been taken to hospital with an infection and accumulation of fluid in her lungs following surgery six weeks earlier.

The singer, who has a two-year-old son, said she was back on the same ward she had been on previously over fears she had symptoms that ‘pointed to a blood clot on the lung’.

She added: ‘They ran a lot of tests which ended up showing I have an infection with a little fluid on my lungs. Finding it hard to breathe in.’
