Jennifer Lopez is already on to her next movie after promoting Kiss Of The Spider Woman with ex-husband Ben Affleck in Manhattan all week.
The singer was done up to the nines while filming her latest flick, The Last Mrs. Parrish, in New York City on Friday.
The 56-year-old actress wore a crimson red tailored blazer and skirt cinched with a black belt. The star added plaid shoes, a wide-brimmed hat, cat-eyed sunglasses and black gloves as she carried a long clutch purse while she filmed on a sidewalk.
The former Fly Girl was also heavily made up for the scene with plenty of black eyeliner and a mauve lip color as she added diamond-and-pearl earrings that matched her brooch.
The Last Mrs Parrish is a high-profile movie for Lopez as the director is Robert Zemeckis and it’s based on a best-selling novel that was featured in Reese Witherspoon’s book club.
Lopez is producing with former Vegas actress Molly Sims and not her ex-husband Affleck, after they made several films together including 2024’s Unstoppable.
The movie icon’s costars are Isabel May from the Yellowstone prequel 1883 and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau from Game Of Thrones.
The Last Mrs. Parrish follows Amber Patterson, a manipulative con artist who schemes to steal the privileged life of wealthy socialite Daphne Parrish, including her powerful husband, Jackson.
Amber infiltrates the Parrish family by befriending Daphne, using her compassion to get close, and slowly driving a wedge between Daphne and Jackson.
The novel’s major twist reveals that Daphne is also manipulating the situation, orchestrating the entire plan to escape her abusive marriage to Jackson and ruin him.
The story shifts to Daphne’s point of view, revealing Jackson’s abusive nature throughout their marriage.
Daphne plans to use Amber’s past and her relationship with Jackson to expose him and secure her own future.
The thriller from writer Liv Constantine came out in 2017.
The novel has been called ‘a fresh, juicy, and utterly addictive thriller from a diabolically imaginative talent.’
This comes after Lopez said shed a lot of weight to star in the musical Kiss Of The Spider Woman.
The beauty told Gayle King on Sunday Mornings that she got ‘very thin’ for the role because one of her characters was a ‘blonde Hollywood bombshell.’
The diva from the Bronx filmed the movie in April 2024 when she was separating from her husband Ben Affleck.
Fans thought she dropped the weight due to the stress of her crumbling marriage, but now it is known that she got thinner for the film.
Functional nutritionist Monica Partier put the movie star’s weight when making Kiss Of the Spider Woman at around 125lbs.
‘Jennifer is 5ft5in, so I would put her at a size four, and I would say she got down to around 125lbs when she made the musical last year,’ noted Partier.
‘Her normal weight appears to be 135lbs and a size six because she is so muscular from consistent workouts; muscle weighs more than fat,’ said the health expert.
‘That is a very healthy weight for her. So she dropped at least 10lbs for the movie and she must have done it in about a month.’
The nutritionist also noted how challenging it is to drop 10lbs for a project.
‘It’s very impressive to see a woman in her fifties drop 10lbs like that for work, it shows how driven she is to look her very best for her job. That is certainly is not easy.’
Partier, who does not work with Lopez, thinks the star gave up sugar, dairy and bad carbs to drop those 10lbs.
‘The top way to drop weight fast is to give up sugar of any kind, because your body likes to store sugar. If you stick to protein and vegetables and food rich in fiber, you will stay on the slender side.’
In 2019, Lopez went on a ‘no sugar, no carbs’ diet with her fiance at the time, Alex Rodriguez.
The diet last 10 years and left the siren ‘feeling hungry all the time,’ she admitted on social media, adding the diet was ‘harder than I thought.’
‘So, 24 hours in, no sugar no carbs, learning a lot about what sugar does to your body and just need to stay away from it,’ said Lopez at the time.
The Hustlers actress also admitted: ‘So it turns out when you don’t have sugar and you don’t have carbs you’re really really hungry all the time so we’re trying to figure out a lot of really good snacks.’
She shared a picture of her chosen snacks – raw veggies, sugar-free Jell-O and canned tuna.
After the diet was over, the two indulged in pizza and bagels to reward themselves.
Jennifer credits her happiness to working out and told Hello magazine it’s what makes her feel good.
‘I really believe that when you take care of yourself and work to stay healthy, you’re better able to take care of those you love. So working out is definitely a priority for me.’
Lopez also told King she is open to dating: ‘The more self-aware I become with the lessons I learn and the hardships that I go through, the more I feel whole and complete on my own… The more I become hopeful for that same type of person to come into my life and I’m so excited for everything in the future.’
