Jake Paul issues legal threat to Piers Morgan as he reignites feud

Jake Paul has ordered his team to ‘vigorously go after’ Piers Morgan after the TV host branded the YouTuber-turned-boxer’s win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. ‘staged bulls***’.

Paul secured a comfortable points victory over Chavez Jr., the son and namesake of a boxing great, in Anaheim on Saturday night.

Boos rang out at Honda Center as Paul extended his professional boxing record to 12-1. It was his first fight since beating 58-year-old Mike Tyson in a hugely controversial bout.

TV host Morgan called Paul’s latest win an ‘unwatchable farce’ and suggested the fight was rigged. He also accused the YouTuber of ‘killing boxing’.

A few days before the fight, Paul had appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored. But he lashed out at the anchor, branding him a ‘fat a**’ before dramatically ending the interview.

‘I had a better fight with Jake Paul on Thursday than the unwatchable farce that took place tonight,’ Morgan wrote on X.

Paul cut short a fiery interview with Piers Morgan after a foul-mouth tirade about the host

The YouTuber-turned-boxing star last year beat former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson

‘The guy’s lining his pockets with buckets of $$$$ – but he’s killing boxing with this boring staged bulls*** against older fighters way past their prime.’

But that prompted a furious response from Paul, who vowed to make ‘pigs’ such as Morgan pay for their ‘lies’.

‘After years of letting it slide as just “haters being haters”, I have asked my team to vigorously go after anyone who makes up lies about my boxing career. Expect to get served you pigs,’ he wrote.

Paul’s comments came after his business partner, Nakisa Bidarian, called out Morgan for his ‘baseless and irresponsible’ post and said they would explore legal action.

‘This claim is baseless and irresponsible,’ Bidarian wrote on social media.

‘Last night’s fight vs. Chavez Jr. was a fully sanctioned 10-round cruiserweight bout, officiated by the California State Athletic Commission with official judges.

‘No staging / rigging —just hard work and a legit win. To say otherwise not only undermines the integrity of the sport, but is defamatory and causes reputational damage to MVP, Jake Paul, and the Commission.

‘Enough is enough. We will be exploring all options, including legal action, to hold accountable those spreading such deliberate and harmful lies.’
