Jake Paul reveals boxing career may be OVER months after Joshua loss

Jake Paul’s boxing dreams may have been shattered along with his jaw.

The child star and YouTuber who has made millions promoting his own boxing matches has more tests planned on the injuries he suffered during his knockout defeat to Anthony Joshua on December 19.

‘I’m getting some new scans in a couple of days on the jaw to get an update on the healing process,’ Paul told podcaster Ariel Helwani. ‘We’ll see what my doctors say and if I can even fight again. That is definitely within the realm of possibility.’

The loss to the former heavyweight champion dropped Paul’s lifetime record to 12-2, although Julio César Chávez Jr. stands as the only true boxer he ever defeated. Paul’s other victories came against converted MMA fighters, like Nate Diaz, and even diminutive former NBA star Nate Robinson.

The good news for Paul is that he feels like the injury is improving.

‘It does feel a lot better as the weeks and time go by,’ he said. ‘I think it just depends on how the bone heals. There’s also a tooth missing here, and I’m pretty sure I’m going to have to get some sort of implant.

‘We just have to wait and figure out what the smartest thing is for me.’

Following several surgeries to fix his broken jaw, Paul admitted in March that he would be out of the ring for at least the next six months.

‘So that puts us maybe late this year or early next year for a fight,’ he said, as quoted by ESPN.

But days later, Paul posted footage of himself training online alongside the caption: ‘You won’t expect this one hahahaha – announcement coming in 2 days March 18th.’

Despite this, Paul never got around to naming another opponent.

Besides, he’s been busy preparing for his wedding, not to mention his other promotional endeavors.

Paul is currently engaged to Dutch speedskater and Olympic gold medalist Jutta Leerdam, although false reports did surface in her native Neverlands that the couple split last month.

In response, Paul issued a furious statement correcting the record.

‘Seeing the Dutch media lying about my fiancé Jutta and I. There is so much false information being spread about Jutta in the past years. It needs to stop.’

Dutch media personality Yvonne Coldeweijer was the first to report on the rumors, writing: ‘Jutta has been dumped by her fiance Jake! He is completely done with her!

‘Two weeks ago Jake dropped her off at home, took the ring from her, and broke off the engagement and thus the relationship,’ Coldeweijer continued.

Coldeweijer’s claims, which were also reported by Dutch outlet Socialniews.nl, further alleged that Paul had cheated on his speed-skater fiancee in recent weeks.

Taking to her Instagram again, Coldeweijer said: ‘It seems that Jake is cheating with anyone and everyone. He even makes the women he cheats with sign an NDA.’

There is no evidence to support any of her claims.
